Seismic activity returned overnight and the volcano resumed releasing steam. The level three volcanic warning had been downgraded to level two, temporarily reducing the expectation of a major eruption. In 1980, a huge eruption on Mount Saint Helens blew the top off the volcano and sent volcanic ash around the world. It also produced possibly the largest landslide ever recorded, wiped out an entire forest, and killed 57 people. (Photo by David McNew/***** Images)

August an ihren Heimatstützpunkt in Wiesbaden zurückgekommen.

I agree with that, in my country and for understandable democratic reasons the army must be neutral, no soldier may be publicly involved in politic, a soldier has to vote but he must shut up about politic matters ...

Oh, this is not because I don't want Bush to be President, and prever Kerry (personaly I think that the US voting system is a big laugh, and I don't like them -Bush and Kerry- both), but he is an American soldier, not only a Republican marine. If he had a US flag on his stock, I didn't even care. BTW, in Holland it's indeed illegal to put promotional gadgets on gear. And we have a totaly different voting system than the US (we choose our own leaders, and the biggest 3 party's are the leading power of the country, the rest of the party's are 'Opposition'), but we don't have a Fidel Castro as leader :D !

He is a soldier with political beliefs, like an American with religious belief, I guess that's too much for you. As a fact in the "bad system" in US, if you can collect 100,000 signitures in the state, you can be on the ballot. And when you vote, you can do the write in.

There is something that you don't understand.
The army (marines, navy, airforce, doesn't matter) is operating what ever the goverment decide, no matter which side is making the decision.
Therefor, the army doesn't have an opinion.
The soldier (every soldier, doesn't matter where and who) is a representive of the army, there for he can not make a stand aswell. He can and should have an opinions, but he should keep them for himself and his friends as long as he's serving in the army and he's wearing his country uniforms.

Yes, right His photo would have been on huge billboards from the Iraqi opposition, and he would have been on every single newbroadcast in the world. Some people will call him a here, i would call him stupid, because if he didn't liked to go Iraq, he should not have signed for the Marines. When I signed up for the Army, they told me exactly what I could do and not, and if it was your shift to go to Bosnie, you had to go. I knew that from day one! I signed up for Bosnie two times!
With that sticker on his stock, he is doeing what he should prevent: making people angry. In country's like Iraq, he can be a easy target, and so are his buddy's! Like I said, if he put a US flag on his stock, i realy don't care, but putting "Look people, I love Bush" stickers on gear is realy dangerous in Arabic country's! But well, I'm just a stoned, weed smoking dumb Dutch guy, so I should'nt speak  ...
