I don't think they will accept you if you are not fit.
I think the marines take people from new recruit training classes and put them into a kind of "fat camp" if they are causing the class problems.
There are bare minimums you have to meet in all the services, such as run times, pullups, situps, and height/weight limits. As a general rule, once you swear in for the second time at MEPs to go to boot camp they have you and you stay as long as it takes to turn you from civilian to soldier or marine, but there are some exceptions. You have to really screw up to get sent packing such as failing drug tests, hitting your DI etc. I am not sure how it is in the Army but in the Marines if you cannot qualify with your rifle you risk getting kicked out. In boot camp however, you stay at the rifle range as long as it takes to qualify and if you do exactly as they say, you should be able to get Expert.
Word of advice, do not go in with the attitude of even the possibility of failing. Stay focused, and be overly prepared both mentally and physically. Also, make sure that you are already physically fit before you actually enlist and can pass the PFT.
With regards to being an officer, you have to have a college degree.

unless you receive a battlefield commision, you need to have a BS or BA. There really aren't any exceptions to this. You can join up and then later to green to gold or come to the academy. Don't expect to join the military and suddenly become an officer. As far as physical fitness, get in the best shape possible (for Army, pushups, situps, and running). Thats all I got. Have a good Friday.

You can't be an Officer without going to college. If you go in enlisted you can apply for Warrant Officer Status. This is a type of officer that is promoted from the enlisted rank. If you were a commissioned officer you'd start and 2nd Lt or Ensign and could advance up to General or Admiral. When I was in the Marines enlisted Marines could start as Warrant Officers and advance to CWO 5. But unless the rules have changed you'll never be a commissioned officer with out a college degree.

If you enlist, there is a time period in which, if you decide to, you can apply for Warrant Officer, OCS, or the Green-to-Gold ROTC program.
After that time period, you cannot change. Warrant officers are more common in aviation than anything. You'll have a few WO's in Special Forces, they are badass and know their ****.

Go talk to all the Recruiters, and see what they have to offer before you make a descision. Only you can decide which is the best Branch for you.
I did TAD as a Marine recruiter for about a year. If a kid wanted to join the Marine Corps, we would sign him up ASAP. If a kid was still unsure as to what he wanted to do we would tell him to go talk to all the other Recruiters, then come back to us. 90% of them came back to us a few days later, asking where to sign the dotted line. :)
