Have any of you guys come across any sites that detail the Kosovo war in any detail, especially from a personal point of view.
I used to work with some ethnic Albanians who had fought with the KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) and their stories were scary. Some info from Serb troops would be great, as history is always written by the victors.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Well if you want very pro Albanian views and very pro Serb views you should try these two links:

www.kosova.dk

Pro Albanian, som links are very graphic (massacre pictures)

www.suc.org

Pro Serb

Both of these sites are biased as hell but still makes interesting reading.

For the military side of it:

www.nato.int

Wulfstan if you got any specific questions don't hesitate to ask, I have very recent working experience from Kosovo.

Thanks, I'll look at the sites in detail later.
What were you doing there? Peacekeeping?
The stories I heard from Albanian rebels were fascinating altho I could never be sure what was real and what was bull****. One guy was amazed that I was the same age as him, implying that he had seen/done some terrible things while was doing normal stuff that guys do in the west.
No doubt the Serbs were murderous, but I think the pendulum has swung too far the other way. By their nature the Albanians are pushy and unsubtle and i can imagine them taking things too far once the war was over.
Do you know anything about the KLA doing arms training (presumably illegally) in Germany, financed by wealthy Albanians in the west? That's how the guys I met learnt to fight etc.
Anyway, cheers...

I almost forgot, for the political angle of kosovo you might want to try this link:

Office for Security and Cooperation in Europe

Well... I was a peacekeeper working in a CIMIC (CIvilian and MIlitary Cooperation) unit. Quite an exciting job, I worked with a lot of interesting people local as well as other internationals. A lot of politics and a cooperation with a lot of different IO's and NGO's.
