what is your prescription?
I can't see clearly a foot in front of my face without my glasses/contacts. I also have astigmatism on top of that. My prescription hasn't changed since I first got it since I was 19. Hope it doesn't get any worse.
Right: SP is -5.00, Axis is 170
Left: SP is -5.50, Axis is 180

Looking good, Viktorin! :)
Had glasses a long time ago, one was 0.75 and the other 0.5.... after a while I just stopped wearing them and I suddenly noticed I didn't really needed them.

Same with me. I don't know what my perscription was but I was supposed to wear them for reading. Soon I realised the Dr. was on crack and I didn't need them. Haven't worn them in years.

I don't really know, but maybe eyes could 'get better' over time? :|

My left eye is about 20/400, right eye 20/150. I was considering Lasik this summer, and went in for the first visit. For a variety of reasons, I decided to save my $2700.

When I had my interview for the Canadian army, it was mentioned that some professions prefer PRK over LASIK. Only reason i can see is because less tissue is removed from the eye with PRK. Another procedure you might want to look into is lense replacement surgery, not sure if thats what it's called but they remove your own natural lense and shove a plastic one in its place.

I'm studying to enter in Zaragoza Military academy or Marin Naval academy for the army you can enter with 3 and you can correct your eyes and for Navy you only can with 0'5 and you can have your eyes corrected.

Lasik nowadays is done all by machine which insures a big boost in fully corrected and non-flawed vision, back when my mom got it done, it was performed by hand and laser machine which could cause more problems then if done totally by machine. But also, if you get messed up vision by lasik, they can now correct your vision if they over corrected it. ;)

Possible only if you have Myopia (nearsightedness). The older you get the more ****e to Hyperopia (farsightedness) you become. Ironically, if you have myopia hyperopia will start negating it down.

I had PRK done almost eight years ago. Never looked back. (I used to wear big thick ugly glasses, think the bottom of coke bottles). Now I look cool. ;)

Investigate it! The reason I chose not to is becaus my left eye, diagnosed at 20/400 by an optamologist, was diagnosed at 20/150 by the Lasik people. My right eye, 20/150 from an optamologist, was designated as 20/40 by the Lasik people. The place I went to claims somethig like a 98% revision to 20/40, and the doc there suggessted I not even bother with my right eye.
I decided not to, because if I spend $2700, I want to see as good as I do with glasses - about 20/15.
Anyway, good luck.
