Be careful since most of the cadpat gear isn't legal for civillian to own since some of our soldiers still haven't received their new kits.

Because you can roll cadpat into a joint and smoke it.......

Who the hell keeps telling you this ****? Why would some soldiers not having it make it illegal to own?

How about stolen proprety ... Cadpat TVs are not offered to civillians. The ones that end up on the market place are often stolen gov't proprety. Go look at the army.ca forums, there's a whole bunch of threads on stolen cadpat and civillian ownership of cadpat gear.

How ABOUT stolen property? Where did the OP mention that his vest is stolen?

How bout YOU go look on the army.ca forums, and actually read the threads?
Nothing personal, but think about it before you go ahead and call someone a criminal.

Never said M1A2U2 was a criminal, I just warned him to be careful when he buys a cadpat item since some of them aren't supposed to be in the hands of non CF entitled personnel.

For the record here is a thread from the army.ca forums.

And (bringing it back on topic), when I said CADPAT belongs to the Crown, this is both in a legal sense and in a figurative sense. As members of the armed forces, we swear allegiance to The Queen, her lawful heirs and successors. We took "the Queen‘s shilling" as the saying goes. Although the government manages everything, and we must support the decisions of our lawfully and democratically elected representatives, we act in the Queen‘s name. So, the CADPAT belongs to the Crown, which is the Queen, which is the government acting in her name. The CADPAT, like everything else we are issued, does not belong to us individually, and we are only temporary caretakers of it, much in the same way that Ministers of state are temporary caretakers for their dept. We are not entitled to make any personal gain from anything the Crown has given us, except our wages.

When I say "legal sense" I mean selling military stores is a criminal offence:

"s. 420(1) Military stores - Every one who buys, receives or detains from a member of the Canadian Forces or a deserter or an absentee without leave therefrom any military stores that are owned by Her Majesty or for which the member, deserter, or absentee is accountable to Her Majesty is guilty of [an offence]"

Then say that, instead of making an obviously false and misleading statement such as "it is illegal for civillians to own cadpat".

For anyone who still cares: it is NOT illegal for anyone to own cadpat, civillian or otherwise. It IS illegal to be in posession of stolen property, and it is illegal to steal goverment property, but that's true in most contries concerning most things, whether its a vest or anything else.

Considering that a vest probably costs the gov't about $200, I don't think there will be any JTF kicking down your door to recover it if it was stoeln.

I see nothing wrong with collecting tons of stuff you can't use all at once. My mom has about 40594525746593 pairs of shoes. It's a property of being female. I see nothign wrong with owning tons of armor. THe moment your government says you cannot own said things is a biiiiiiiig problem.

I thik everyone has the right to protect themselves, to include concealed carry of weapons. My state government does not think so. F*ck them though. I'll move to someplace where my rights are existant.

Anywho. Nice collection! I'll shut up now!

This is my Interceptor I purchased about a year ago on Ebay for around 350 I think with shipping included. It dosnt have the SAPI's yet but I am planning on getting some once I get some extra cash to spend on them and I ordered some name tape for the front of the vest. Then the second picture is a grenadier's vest I got around the same time as the Interceptor, I got it for about 15-20 bucks. Other than these two ive got a "rangers" vest thats about 5 years old, it's black and ive got another in woodland which I didnt take pictures of because they're cheap imo. Im planning on buying some more vests in the next few weeks but as I said im saving up for the SAPI's and im also saving for some guns. :) Sorry about the quality of pictures my cam is getting old.

As members of the armed forces, we swear allegiance to The Queen, her lawful heirs and successors. We took "the Queen‘s shilling" as the saying goes.

I didn't realise that Canadians were such Royalists. I thought just the UK forces made that oath. I know that you are part of the Commonwealth, but didn't realise that it went that far.

I read one time that the UK oath was the only one in the world that swore allegiance to a specific person rather than the government or a constitution. That might cause some problems, although unlikely if the government told the forces one thing and you had a sovereign that didn't like it and told the forces not too.
