hum think blue is a very bad idea.... if they ever were in a woodland ish area they would stick out like mad like those poor Philippino policemen who were killed in the bush wearing Navy colour camo...

If you read the reasons behind the blue, grey and black color scheme, it makes sense. It's not to camouflage the sailor against the ship or sea, it's to make stains on the uniform less noticable during daily wear. This uniform will replace like 6 uniforms currently in use.

I think it's a great idea. Pretty practical and it looks pretty sweet...

If you fall off the ship you should hopefully be wearing the big red/orange floater coat many of them have on in pics

I'd just be glad to get to wear cammies everyday. Even khakis get old after a while. I wore cammies every day in Qatar and I was very happy.

Actually, I think that the 8point cap is the navys cap first.

The Navy members that wear camo already have the 8-point cover. I've seen pics of sailors in Marpat too (no they weren't just corpsmen or chaplains assistants).

Sailors attached to Marine units are authorized to wear MARPAT, including the EGA. As for the 8-point cap, both the Navy and the Marine Corps wear it currently, but the Air Force might replace the soft cap with the 8-point on their new utilities.
