just watched a cool lion fighting video and typed in google to find more when i found this....

thought i would share

LIGER:he liger is the result from the mating between a male lion and a female tiger. The liger is incredibely larger in size than both the lion and the tiger reaching about 11 feet (3.4 mt) in length, which makes it the largest living cat on earth. Ligers are the living proof that hybrid cats can surely be fertile.

TIGON:The tigon is the result from the mating between a male tiger and a lioness. The tigon is obviously smaller in size than either the lion or the tiger. Tigons also proved to be fertile and able to mate with both lions and tigers.

Leopon: The leopon is the result from the mating between a male leopard and a lioness. This kind of hybrid is not as common as ligers and tigons mainly due to the big size difference between the lion and the leopard. Usually, lions and leopards compete for prey in the wild and the lion can easily kill the leopard. The most famous recorded incident of a leopon took place in a Japanese zoo in the 1960s.

ok lets show more interesting stuff...

found this little battle on google...

a step by step battle of a Lion, who makes way into a group of females, hoping to steal their kill.
I do not think he is a member of the Pride, and the site did not title him as one. He is initially rejected by the females upon approach. Notice the thinner mane - I suspect he is an adolescent. With ears tilted back, the Lionesses warn him off. He feels wary, considering the number of guardians this kill has, and so, takes leave….but not for long. He soon flanks the group, and tries again.

The females are onto his trick, and rush to guard their meal. The Lion however, will not be intimidated. He charges them.

The Lionesses waste no time. As a unit they rush forward. Notice the Female on the left, nabbing at the Male’s face, while another on the right, goes to chomp a hip.

The Lion avoids the head-bite, turning to deflect or dodge the flank gnawer.

His foes take this opportunity to literally swamp him, burying him beneath waves of fury and punishment. Nevertheless, he persists fighting, if only to defend himself.

He resumes footing, realizing that he is severely outnumbered. The Lionesses continue to lecture him, by way of physical harassment. At this point, they all seem to have a decent hold on a portion of his body. He does not look happy.

The dreadful Lionesses spared him. He either freed himself of their teeth and claws and delivered a submissive gesture, or was released upon relinquishing his attacks. Had there been a Pride Male around, the story probably would have ended much different ending. Nomad males are killed for trespass, as are females. It was then that the Lionesses realized their cubs had taken to hiding, and with grudging displeasure, abandoned the kill to find their infants. While the Lion and indeed, lost the battle against the mob, he had won the war - for the kill was his, and he did not make haste without it.
