Polls and interviews suggest that religious extremist type leaders are starting to take the lead and that the government of Ayad Alawi is losing ground and popular support rapidly.

In addition over 45% of Iraqi's polled think thier nation is headed down a dangeroud path that will not lead to freedom.

That funny, Iraqi's are beginning to have the same outlook on thier nation as American citizens now have about thiers. Funny, Bush seems very good at creating fear and bleakness..................Although a greater percentage of Americans feel thier nation is heading the in wrong direction. Unfortunately, the US is not headed by a secular leader but instead by a moronic theocrat baby who believes he is the right hand of god come down to earth.................so in some ways Iraq is even better off than America and they should be greatful right?

Give us a break!
Nobody recognises the name of Al Sistani? who is a major player in Iraq,I've not seen nor heard of this other bloke, and he's supposed to be ahead of everyone!

I wonder where this poll was conducted as it doesn't sound as if it was Iraq wide?

The Government is losing support? It's not being reported here, infact none of what you have posted is !

It's very important for Allawi to be accepted by the majority or the US will have to kick their ass again which no one wants to see a repeat of.
