its hard to tell from those junkyard photos what the real level of damage was only because it looks like some of those tanks are being gutted for parts, tracks, track tires, guns etc...

To my knowledge none of the Abrams crews were killed with the exception of the one that went into the water. They were disabled by the Iraqis by damaging the engine or tracks, but not destroyed. Most of the photos online of the blown up Abrams were after shots of our airstrikes to prevent the enemy from getting them.

The USMC AAVs were definately a whole other story. Many of them were completely in ruins particularly because contrary to the heavy armored tanks, they are made of aluminum for lighter weight. The only "heavy armored" part of the USMC AAV is the turret, which often times would still be in tact in the pile of the melted and burnt out body of the vehicle. I believe they are even vulnerable to .50 rounds in certain spots.

Kingpin, you sure seem to like photos of destroyed American equipment. I'll give you a nice Russian-style pat on the back for that! :bash:

I'll be sure to send some videos from Infantry School of me and my friends blowing the living **** out of some BMP's and BRDM's. Maybe a T-62 or two. :fork:

Besides, where's the logic in putting the BMP's fuel in their rear doors? Can you say Incendiary round? Good to know that I can knock out an enemy BMP with a .22 rifle. (Just kidding around, obviously.)

Just joking around, sir! Or am I? :|

And don't forget to rename yourself to Mr. SkoroSTnoy.

You said BRDM and T-62? Ok! Let's also place here some stuff about ****ed up in Vietnam M-24, M-43, M-48 and M-113.

Because the only true comparison - comparison of equals.

As for your "king of battlefield" read the following

http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Bunker/1337/tanks_at_battle/m1combat.html

Concluding sentence is nice: "In American Abrams the only good things are British armour and German cannon".

I know, my name is misspelled. I don't care though. Out of about 5 years of having this name, you are only the 2nd person to see that it's wrong, not counting myself. It's going to stay "MrSkorotsnoy" till I can make up a better, neutral name.

http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Bunker/1337/tanks_at_battle/m1combat.html

I see that website is straight from the pentagon! Just remember that opinions are like assholes: everyone's got em' and they all stink!

Plus don't attack me. I collect and enjoy alot of Russian/Soviet weaponry. I can't wait to somehow acquire a T-64 and put it on my front lawn! :o
