believe it or not its kinda an odd question... but its not about the training, PT or anything like that...

my question is, are you allowed to chew during basic? by chew (for those of you who dont know, i mean chew tobacco, i only ask cuz i'm kinda addicted, i've been chewing since i was 15 and it'll prolly be hard to part with my Skoal...

Ten years + back, basic =No tobacco products ZERO! Go ask your recruiter.
One kid who got caught with his can of chew just a few hours after we had just topped the 16 qualifications. We were going to get a few extra hours of free time Sunday for that too! Instead, the 1st Sergeant had the whole Company inside the barracks making it rain until the wee hours of the morning. He then allowed the poor guy to keep his stash. You can imagine what happened later that morning. :slap:

If you chew, smoke, dip, inhale then the drill sergeants will chew you up :D But that's basic training, you can do whatever you want to your body when you get to your permanent duty station, as long as it is not illegal substances.

Jack is right, and he has an awesome ***** pic to go with it :P .

TRADOC does not permit use of any tobacco products in Basic, Airborne or Ranger school class time among others. Since Ranger and Basic are locked down that means you cannot chew at all except when on pass if given one.

hey man one of the guys that got out of boot camp from my station said he pretty much quit smoking because of Marine boot camp, he said he never thought about it once. this is Marine boot camp though im not very sure about the Army, but it shouldnt bee too much of a difference as far as nicotine "desensitization". (damn im actually learning something in psychology)

so if your looking to quit here is your chance :D
