Hey I was wondering what peoples opinions are about the KAC SR25 SWS. Ive never fired any weapons but that sure looks good! I especially like the MK11 Mod 0. What are the pros and cons of this weapon?

Hello there

Pros:

20 round mag with semi-automatic – good for situations like hostage rescues, urban sniping etc where ranges are under 800m and extensive/rapid/ harassing fire is required.

Looks similar like an M-16 – if you're mixing with other troops it could take you out of the – officer, radio operator, anti-tank, sniper, machine-gunner primary hit list of other snipers and emery looking to lower the fighting efficiency of a platoon etc.

Cons:

Accuracy at ranges over 800m, not really the sort of thing most snipers would want out in the field.

It's not bolt action – snipers are funny about that.

Jamming.

Reliability has been an ongoing issue with the SR25 in all its forms. The Rangers and the 1st SFG both issued the weapon in the mid 90's but both dumped it due to poor functioning in the field.

FWIW, the Mk 11 Mod 0 apparently did amazingly well in trials.
