sux to live near my place...

i've heard from several sources that this morning some kid at a school near mine pulled a gun on a teacher, and all the ETF guys went in and arrested the kid. They say that the gun wasn't loaded, but it's still helluva scary. Do you guys see such things happen alot (students packing guns) in your neighbourhood?

In November last year during school, a kid left some kind of threatening note on his 1st period teacher's desk, so the teacher told the administration, had his picture shown to all the teachers in the school, and during 2nd period a student teacher came upon him in the hall. Asked to see the kid's school ID, kid starts running off and unzipping his backpack. Student teacher and another teacher passing by ended up tackling him, taking off his backpack, and finding an unloaded .40cal handgun with 3 extra loaded magazines. We didn't find out until 3rd period when an announcement came on. Pretty nasty situation.

i heard the students were kept in the gym for 4 hours. There's speculation as well that there was a threat made towards the school earlier.

When i was in eight grade, during seventh hour (last of the day) two guys robbed a bank across town, and were being chased by the cops when they crashed their car near the back parking lot of the school, one hurt himself in the crash and the police got him. The other ran (i believe armed) into the back door, right past the windows of my seventh hour class, the turned up the hall, ran down most the building, was about to leave through the front door, when my math teacher saw him running, tripped him, and another math teacher helped hold him down until the police came. Biggest problem? that was the only day I was absent from school that year.

no, the school was like 8 blocks away and i was in class performing stupid shakespeare when it happened. New reports now say the threat was directed at the vice principal by a suspended student.

over the last 5 years 6-11th grade i can remeber a kid in my middle school bringing a loaded handgun,

in 9th grade some kid planned a columbine style shootout he recruited kids and everthing and told them the day, that day he brought a empty handgun to schooland his "kill list", i remeber he was teased constantly, and I would not really care what happened to the people who he would have shot. (they were assholes to me also .)all over the news and stuff

back when i was in high school we had a handful of bomb threats. School had to be evacuated and we had to stand in the cold for like 4 hours while they searched and cleared the whole damn building. Every cupboard, every locker, every desk.

We also had some moron get tackled by cops because he opened up his locker and inside was a .22.... A security guard was right behind the kid and saw it, tackled the asshole and thena cop who was about 50 feet away ran in and jump on the kid.

Kid was never seen again.

We had police at our school all the time. First two years they were there about once a week for drugs or fights. Then we had the bomb threats, and after having about 8 of them in a single month, the police finally decided to keep an officer there.

How is the bullying situation in american schools nowadays?
Have the bullies learnt that the bullied students might snap and shoot up the school or are they still doing their bullying?

Sad to see that it seemes to happen a little now and then.

Few years ago near here a kid didn't appreciate that another guy was dating "his" girl. So he went home, got his squirrel rifle and shot him dead when he left the school building!

i dont think bullying will ever truly end. Until a bully gets humbled or actually grows up he is an arrogant prick who thinks he's invincible and they tend to think that stuf like them will never happen to them. For the most part they are right. This type of thing doesn't happen often enough to make school yard bullies vanish.

In Australia all we pretty much have is Bomb Threats and Rapists.

Altho i know a few people inc myself who've had knives at school. As a 'just in case' measure.

Our high school was too lame for that. I haven't even ever seen a knife on our school. It was already 'special' when there was a fight...

If you really live in coquitlum, you should know that there's no such thing as ETF out here. There is the RCMP's ERT, and Vancouver police, delta police, new west police and abby police ERT teams, but not a single one in the province called ETF.

in my school you'd be lucky to hear from a fight let alone a gun being brought to school.

jeez i forgot wat their name was for a while. i'm not gonna google it up or watever. if i want to bs i'd make up a better story than this. you can phone up Gleneagle Secondary in coquitlam to make sure. the latest update is they couldnt find a gun on the kid, and the threat was directed at the vice principal.

COQUITLAM -- A 14-year-old boy is facing a charge of uttering threats after an incident at a Coquitlam high school yesterday.

Students at Gleneagle Secondary were locked in the gym for three hours while heavily-armed police searched the building after a threat was phoned in.

The RCMP say the suspect was later arrested in Vancouver.

His name cannot be be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but police say he was a new student to the school and new to the Coquitlam area.

The Mounties have been criticized by some parents for confining the students in the gym for so long, but the police say their primary focus was to ensure the safety of the children and staff.
