Hi guys, wonder if you all could assist me on my project.
My unit is proposing that we replace our single point slings on our SAR-21 assault rifle by a 3 point type sling. In order to save cost, we decided to jerry rig our own. To get funding from our unit commander, we need to write in our proposal and list the advantages (pros/cons).
Since we are mostly new to the idea of 3 point slings, could you guys give me some professional comments.

Well, for starters, my unit strength is less than a hundred. More like an enhance strength platoon. We mainly provide base security and armed escort for the base residence units.

I would strongly recomend a single point attachment sling. 3 point slings get hung up easily, and if you ever have to unsling your weapon, you've got a mess of webbing getting caught on anything and everything(heaven forbid you try to low crawl with all that crap hanging off!). A single point sling like this: http://www.lightfighter.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=350 allows you to unhook the fastex buckle right next to your weapon. The business end of the sling stays on the weapon, the sling stays on you. Good for riding in vecicles and dismounting, you can snap in once your out of the vehicle and not worry about getting caught on a door handle or anything. Anyway, just a thought. p-)
