Some of us here have served/will serve and still serving in the military so you should have a workout regime. Mind if you share?

Heres mine

*Monday: 10-15 miles run
*Tuesday: boxing practice in the local gym, a very good alternative workout; 1 hour of abs workout
*Wednesday: a boring 10-15 miles run
*Thursday: pumping iron for 2 hours
*Friday: another 10-15 miles run
*Saturday: 50 miles biking up the mountain. I love biking woot
*Sunday: stretching, drinking beer in a lake and fishing, ***( which is a good workout itself :D)

I do a cardio pyramid every other day with pushups, dips, pullups, situps, and 20lbs(I know, I'm a bitch) curls. Start w/ 2 of each, work my way up by 2s to about 20, then cycle it back down to 2. Takes about 45min.

I 'lucked' out again this summer and got chopped to the bike unit for the 2nd yr in a row so I rode anywhere from 30 to 50 miles on our four on, three off, ten hour shifts.

When I'm not doing that, I'll run 2-4 miles everyday. On the days I don't do the pyramid I'll either hit the pool(12-15 laps) or hop on a bike for a 25 mile ride.

I stay away from weights for the most part. I used to be big into them in college but the added weight was a killer when I got into endurance sports.

Sorry, I forget to mention this. I'm not superman, contrary to popular belief so I don't do 20 pullups, I do 1 pullup for every 2 curls, dips, and pushups, and I'll do 10 situps for every set.

So this is kinda what it looks like

pullups 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
dips 2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2
curls see above
pushups see above

3. Drag the f*cker home and load up the net.
4. Go log on to www.militaryphotos.net and exercise those digits by responding to numerous posts with cynical glee.

Mondays, Wednesday, Friday

plyometrics in the morning (usually takes to 2 hours)

Light to moderate weights in the afternoon



Tuesdays, Thursday, Sats

Jog: 50 mins to an hour in the morning

A bit of Muay Thai in the afternoon

Drills (Knees, Kicks Teeps and Punches on the bag)

Shadow Box (5 to 6 rounds)

Bag Work (4 to 5 rounds)

Pad Work (2 to 3 rounds)

Clinching/Sparring (2 to 3 rounds)


I'll be picking up the pace for 2004..

Yup. Best workout. 3 months of holliday with this extreme traing regime pushes me to buy bunch of new trousers :)

Jack, you are a crazy SOB, running 45 miles a week!!!

Mine is based on 2 weeks:

M1: Off

T1: Race pace 5 mile run, Dips with 90 lbs xtra
T1 nite: 1000m finning, CDQC skills

W1: Arms, chinups

R1: Sprints: 1/4 mile splits for 4-6 miles, deep leg lunges
R1 nite: 1500m finning, CDQC skills

F1: Shoulders, Pullups

S1: Long distance run, usually 8 miles
S1 nite: 3000m finning, CDQC skills

S1: Chest, Pushups

M2: Off

T2: Race pace 5 mile run, Dips with 90lbs xtra
T2 nite: 1000m finning, CDQC skills

W2: Back/ Bi's, chinups

R2: Sprints: 1/4 mile splits for 4-6 miles, deep leg lunges
R2 nite: 2000m finning, CDQC skills

F2: Chest/ Tri's/ Pushups, 1 arm pushups

S2: Roadmarch 50-70 lbs. 4-12 miles
S2 nite: 4000m finning, CDQC skills

S2: Leg lifting with cardio cool down

The second sunday is always a smoker!!!

monday - hangover recovery
tuesday - still too tired hang around gym and look at all the mystery machines

wed - maybe something light like tennis
thursday - Damn a guy always needs a dayoff
fri - weekend hydration/nutrients prep - extra food and extra long breakfast
sat - ab work from hurling
sun - cardo like work out from smoke inhalation

Well I dont have a strict regime like the rest of the people who posted. I mountain bike as much as possible, run if I have time and lift some dumbbells.

monday - thursday, regular workout

flatbench, 3x10 - 135lb, 155lb, 165lb
leg extensions, 3x10 - 100lb all 3 sets
incline bench, 3x10 - 100lb, 115lb, 125lb
leg curls, 3x10 - 70lb, 70lb, 90lb
tricep extensions (aka skull crushers), 3x10 - 40lb, 50lb, 50lb
calf raises, 3x10 - 200lb, 200lb, 220lb
upper back row, 3x10 - 120lb, 130lb, 140lb
ab machine, 3x20 - 80lb all 3 sets
shrugs, 3x10 - 105lb, 115lb, 125lb
squats, 3x10 - 185lb, 225lb, 275lb

friday, max out day

Flat bench, 2x4 - 185lb, 200lb (warmup 135lb)
squat, 2x4 - 300lb, 365lb (warmup 225lb)
dead lift, 2x4 - 225lb, 275lb (warmup 135lb)
power cleans, 2x4 - 125lb, 145lb (warmup 115)

i run when i can, but i'll admit i hate running...

heres my workout for you, saturday and sunday are recovery day. i'm about 5'6", i weigh about 130lb-135lb. i say strength is ony half the trick, you gotta know what to take in order to get stronger. i take power gels b4 every workout and try to eat rite, though i'm eating a fudge pop while i'm typing this :cantbeli:

My wife was an All-State in cross country during high school so that helps some what. A good way of motivation and less procrastination is your significant other or insignificant other is a fitness buff.

yes but I have the coveted {RECLINDO} Tab. (i hope not before your time).

my wife won several Ms Fitness Model competition things (before my time) in her home state...

even better is on eof my best friends whose wife ran the Olympic torch the last time it was here in the US, she was some big college/high school track star...and all joking aside my joke PT session would be a heavy week for him...he sits on the porch and watches his wife run sprints as he smokes..
The dude has never done PT since he left the 325 in Italy. Smoked during timed validation ruck marches - 10k 55lbs 1/3 body weight and 20k 35lbs. But genetically he is ****ing lucky..the dude is hard - woodpecker lips hard. Never was beat by physical challenges, but never did PT... jumpmaster 1 day notice after returning from a week long drinkfest during my wedding (he hadn't done PT in months, hadn't study nomenclatures or JMPI/pre-jump training handout) no probs. No-one ever gave him **** cause he never had any probs physically.

He looked the part of a stout, muscular dude...where as I do PT and am naturally SKINNY and must work at muscle....
I hate that fuc-ing guy.

I'm a US veteran so I got to be at least 22, right?

I prefer asian and german because that's a great combination. But Swedish will do.

unfortunately, i'll have to wait until I am at least 29, 30... medical residency: spending 18-20 hours a day at the hospital for 4-7 years is not my idea of a good environment for marriage. :(

in afternoon - 5-6 slices of pizza, followed by a nice klondikie bar
in evening, 3-4 "Da Bomb" Burritos from Kwik Trip, or Chinese Buffet
