Just what to know what you guy's think, because I would like to see American and Russian relationship get stronger by Russia sending troops to Iraq.

I want to know how they would be able to pay for that...I watched on discovery wings channel that hind d pilots are only allowed to fly once a month...either that or the program I watched is really old.
edit: and I voted no because I don't think the Iraqi's would like the presence of Russians.
I do not think the Russians support sending in help or at least their population doesnt, but I think it would be greatly appreciated if they would at least send some kind of support.

I don't think the Iraqis want any foreign power there... US, UK, or UN.
I voted No.
The best thing the US could do is gather up 50,000 Iraqi men that have 10 or so people vouch for them, that they are not nuts or Pro Saddam, train them up and give them uniforms and rifles and let them solve their own security problem.

Well, either you are some prior service that still has **** in his breaches from the Cold war or some young nerd that read too MANY books and now can't get over it...
and the question was should russia sent troops, not money... As you know, us really wants to get as many troops out of there as they can, I think that would be a good help.

It would not be the first time Russian (or Former USSR countries) worked with the US while fwd deployed (ie besides "soldiers exchange")...I am aware of no major incidents yet.

Answer to the poll question:
Yes
America will be the good cop and the Russians will be the bad cop.
No offend against Russia but the Russian troops can do all the things that the US troops cannot do because of international pressure, alledglt regarding to Human Rights issues.

First of all, he is not the one that started it. Second of all, did you know that most guerillas that ATTACK THE CHECHEN gov't are mercenaries from another countries?? And right now the Iraqi war is more bloodier anyway.

I don't think the Russians will send any men to Iraq. Last I heard they had their hands full in Chechnya(spelling?). The Russkies are having enough trouble controling that tiny piece of ground. What makes you think they would divert recouces to a war in which they aren't even involved?

Well, I believe that we do need some international support regarding Iraq and if that means bringing in the Russians, then so be it. The Russians could prove to be helpful and this will further isolate France and some of the other anti Americans in the EU. I am sure that Russia is looking for some sort of way to mend relations with the US and this is the perfect opportunity, I hope they take us up on it. More than Russians, I think we need more Islamic countries contributing to the peacekeeping corps.

Ouch... the personals are flowing from the people. :-)
seyuki and semperfi? Let me educate you...
Russian soldiers should not be sent into any country to help achieve "stability" when they cannot, by their presence, achieve any type of "stability" in the former Soviet Republics where they were once, and are now in battle against the followers of Islam.
Is that clear enough to you children?
Muslims DO NOT WANT Russian soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan while Russian soldiers fight the "Faithful" in Chechnya.
So wake up.
NO Russian soldiers in Iraq thanks.

Russia is just about economically bankrupt, and right now their military is suffering because of severe lack of funding (both in terms of equipment and training). Even if we were long-time allies, which we aren't, I don't think it's either prudent or just to ask a country in that situation to send troops to foreign lands. It's just asking for trouble.
I'd be more than happy to get more support from Western European countries, though--or maybe even from places like India and Japan. It's just that Russia isn't the place I'd start.
"Russia is just about economically bankrupt, and right now their military is suffering because of severe lack of funding (both in terms of equipment and training)."
Umm, that is rubbish.
Defence expenditure has increased the last 3-4 years in a row, and while it doesn't approach what the Americans are spending they aren't anywhere near as bad off as they were 10 years ago.
What happened to bush and blairs claims that if the international community won't join then they can't partake in the rebuild and that the US, UK, Australia and a few other countries could and would do it by themselves?
