Only that in full auto its just a waste of ammo. It has only one potential - cleaning rooms in close combat, and changing mags after one second burst is not good.
Semi-auto is best for this thing.

Only if it's a very small group of zombies and you have some type of backup weapon or partner to cap 'em in the head.
Trying to show it's great for ambushes?

As it says in the info section the USAS-12 is a heavy weapon so the operator would have better control of the weapon in auto setting then the saiga. If you watch the video the guy shoting the saiga is violantly shaking right after he fires his last round. The compromise is that shotguns arn't effective in auto mode so you have two factors making the saiga a much better weapon, the weight(most effective in semi), and the reliability of an AK(although i heard the saiga needs to be broken-in to for proper ejection).
It would be awsome if there was a drum mag avalible for the saiga, i have read that the USAS-12 mags can be modified some how.

They need design a 20 round drum and then it'll become yet another relegated auto shotgun.

10-28-2004, 08:32 PM
damn!
would be pretty effective in cqb semi auto mode... byt the recoil looks to heavy. Defenatly loose some concentration there. Its amazing how small it is.
A drum mag would be it.

Notice, the guy shooting the 12GA is huge (fat)...easy 300lbs...and it knocks the crap out of him. Shoot, it sends him backstepping after about 3 rounds in full auto. The guy shooting the 20GA isn't small by any means, but I don't blame them for putting chubby on the 12. I'd hate to see some tall, skinny dude shoot that thing in full auto!

If it wasn't PUBLISHED or just because u can't find any info on the WEB, DOESN'T mean that it wasn't supplied in small numbers to some specnaz units for evaluation(possibly in chechnya). Actually, judging by the 'russian modus operandi', i am quite sure that this is the case, and they have been in very limited service for the past couple of years i.e. evaluation

Its strange-
How long have the weapon been out on testing?
Ive noticed this several times. New great russian guns take a long time for being deployed out on the frontline in bigger scale than just some spetsnaz units. pricy thing?
VSS vintorez is one example of a gun that ive been seeing more and more of, but its been out a long time now.
I could be very wrong, sence my only judging is taken from the pictures that I see of common russian soilders on militaryphotos.net. Not a big source exactly, however its the impression im getting.

Not to beat a dead horse but, man the recoil on those is serious to the point of better to simply lob a hand grenade in the room instead...IMHO
Thanx for the new links to the vids BTW.
I love the Russian weapons, but I like the Idea of the heavier US version.
Not like I will ever see these for sale to the public in Canada anyway.
:( ... I'll just have to stick to playing with them in Rainbow six 3.

Yes , by the way, not even SF units in MVD made any purchase of those weapons. All this complex got to many problems to be operational.
One as I already said long/highcapa magazing jamming .
Another is long storage (day or 2 ) of 12Cal munition in side those
mags causes its form changing from cyllinder to some sort of
sharp headed one. Its also causes jamming .
