I think I like Russian stuff the most because in North America, almost all you ever see is US hardware (movies, games) and while Russia is the stereotypical 'bad guys' it's pretty much limited to AK47s. Once I started learning about modern Russian designs (especially small arms) I was really intrigued and started trying to learn more. That's why my first mod for Rogue Spear: Urban Ops was all new or obscure Russian weapons.

I'm still just as interested by Western equipment, but it's so popular that it gets boring - try counting how many different people made M4's for Operation Flashpoint, it's ridiculous. I guess it was also a niche for my mod work, because nobody else was doing much with Russian harware.

And how can you not love something like the KS23 shotgun? 23mm, it can fire a steel slug called "Barricade" (I think it's 80g). Classic Russian overkill. :D

I've always had a taste for russian equipment. But not just Russian stuff, the Warsaw Equipment, along with even Finnish Military. AK-47 just looks good to me.

I think we should get some high marks for innovation as well, no?

Also, even though I voted US (i'm biased what can I say?)

I do still admire most of much of the German equipment form the 20th century.

I also admire simplicity/ functionality coupled with cost effectiveness. In small arms that award has to go to the Russians for the SKS and Kalasnikov designs. I really do admire the SKS as it is COMPLETELY functinal as a bolt action even if the gas system were to fail. for the time period it was the best of both worlds.

USA

Where else can you, within a week's time, handle a M4, M9 Beretta, AK-47, RPG-7 Grenade Launcher, Javelin Antitank Missile, and M67 Fragmentation Grenade. Oh yeah and jump into a UH-60, play in a humvee, and pack your ruck onto a C-130...

I voted for "other" because I like South African stuff the most: Ratel, Oliphaunt, Rooivalk, Buffel, Casspir, the works. Original, outside-the-box thinking, perfectly adapted for their particular needs.

Swedish stuff is also way cool, from jets and subs to vehicles and camo.

For light arms, definitely Russia. Russian guns kill people dead with no frills, max reliability.

Not at all, I am a major in U.S History. However, the notion of that incessant whiner Fintin being a history major is just laughable. I find U.S history quite engaging.

Israel has a pretty big weapons industry, we either upgrade American equipment or we produce our own weapons.

The Israelis have the army with the best adaptivity to the situation. In Libanon they find out the m113 was not armored enough for urban fightig so they carried the infantry in Merkavas. Then They made the havy APC's as Achzarit, Puma, Nakpadon, ... They always develop or buy the best equipment for the situation. That make the Israelian army the most intresting and the best for me. They also have great UAV's.
