What is it then...
"Nenhum garlic, por favor" or
"Nenhum alho, por favor".

Or does alho mean something completely different???

TIA

Alho means garlic, and unless you want to be speaking Engluese, I suggest "Nenhum alho, por favor." :)

Hehe.. I get that stuff too. Some people think I'm Greek, Italian and even Polish at the Polish neighborhoods. The old man at the pizzaria where I go to get my pizza thinks I'm Italian. He starts to talk to me in English and then out of no where he talks to me in Italian ( I do understand a bit ) he forgets that I'm not Italian. Also, He is funny with his "game Talk" when a nice women walks infront of his pizzaria and if he is outside smoking his cigarette, A nice 10/10 Latina Puerto Rican or Dominican walks by infront of his pizzaria and he starts sweet talking to them in Spanish. Funny and cool old man in my book. I'm latin by the way ( Cuban & Puerto Rican decent )

Portuguese is easy to understand and it's almost like spanish. There is some neighborhoods in the NYC metro area in north eastern New Jersey with huge Portuguese & Brazilian population and I even seen some people speaking in portuguese and others responding back in spanish. :P
