Hello everyone! I am doing a paper that my English teacher calls a "I search" paper. My History teacher last semester caled it a "term paper". Either way, it's a paper that takes about 2 to 3 months to do, and has little "checkpoints" along the way.
I am thinking of doing it on Military Special Forces. I've already got most of my sources. I'm still deciding between the Army's SFOD: Delta, Army Rangers, Marine Force Recon, or Navy SEALS. Here's what will make my decision... I need to find somone that I can interview... how easy would it be to find someone I can interview, preferbly on-line?
Finding someone from Delta would be, no doubt, hardest, with the SEALS 2nd, then Force Recon, and Rangers. So basically, I'm asking if you know anyone from these military branches I might be able to get in touch with.
Thank you for your time, and have a good 'un!
That might be difficult, but there's a lot of people in the groups that you mentioned on the following website. If you make sure to ask politely like you did here, you might get a positive response. Don't take it personally if you get a negative response though.

Thanks for the reply Hood. I’ve got some questions regarding that forum though…
I. Should I copy and paste the first post above you, or should I make it more complicated? By that, I mean adding more details, more politeness, and a little info on what the questions would be like.
II. Will my name: Nachtschleicher (German for Night Sneaker) have the possibility of offending someone?
III. Where do I post my question for maximum effectiveness? If I were to post it in the Delta, SEAL, Reconnaissance, and Ranger forum, it would, no doubt, piss them off, so where should I put it for 2nd best effectiveness?
Thanks for your time, and have a good ‘un!
There's a general all around forum on there if you scroll down a bit. It's monitored by the forum admins, so they can probably point you in the right direction if they want to. I'd probably leave the delta one out as there's about a 0.000001 % chance of someone responding to that, but the SEAL and Ranger one should be fine. I can't really say about the German name. If they're going to give a negative response, it will be because of other reasons, and not only that.

OK, this is what I'm thinking of posting over there. You seem to have more experence over there than I do, what do you think?
"Hello everyone. I am Jason Anderson, also known as Nachtschleicher, which in German means Night Sneaker (I did read the thing about Wannabes, and I believe the name won’t pose to be a problem, but if it is, let me know immediately).
I am 17 years old, in High School, and I am very much interested in joining the military. I don’t believe I can, however, since I am hard of hearing. I’ve been told that I MIGHT be able to join, but I doubt it. I went to the Marine Corps recruiting office, and asked if I could join, but was told that I couldn’t. I’m somewhat of a wannabe, but only because I cannot be.
If any of you have any questions, please feel free to ask as I have nothing to hide.
Now for the reason I came here:
I am doing a research paper that my English teacher calls a “I Search” paper. It’s a big paper that takes about 2 or 3 months to complete, and there are “checkpoints” along the way. I am thinking of doing this paper on one of four military branches: Army's SFOD: Delta, Army Rangers, Marine Force Recon, or Navy SEALS. My decision will be made by who is willing to be interviewed, if any. I will not ask stupid questions, and if something is of inappropriate material, I will disregard that question, no questions asked.
If any of you believe that doing a paper is a bad idea, please let me know.
Thanks for your time, and have a good ‘un!"
Thanks for all your help!
:) That should do nicely.
