At least 21 policemen have been killed in an attack on a police station in the western Iraqi province of al-Anbar.
Several dozen attackers stormed the police station in Haditha, 200km (120 miles) west of Baghdad, police say.
Police sources say the militants disarmed officers, gathered them together and shot them dead.
There are also reports that a senior police officer was killed in a separate attack in the neighbouring town of Haqlaniya.

For those who have not seen the video's of these such executions, where the ING/IPS are lined up and shot from behind at point blank ,I'd suggest to get a reality check you do so,it brings home just how barbaric these insurgents and extremists that OB kenobi gets such a hardon for, when an unarmed man is executed in cold blood,it's nothing short of barbaric murder, and all to familiar with the current Modus Operendi of Zarqawi's followers.
But his band of Extremists will never stop these executions, until they themselves are stopped........and I'm not to optimistic the assault on Falujah will be the result the MNF are looking for.
These blokes were serving their country and providing for their families.....just like a lot of forum members here have done, and are currently doing....a sad day for the IPS. :(

Iraq declares state of emergency
Iraq's government has declared a 60-day state of emergency in response to the escalation of violence by militants.
Official spokesman Thaer Naqib said the emergency would cover the whole of Iraq except Kurdish-run areas in the north.
He said the move came in response to mass killings and destruction of the country's infrastructure carried out by "criminals and terrorists".
He said the violence was part of a plot to derail the Iraqi government's progress towards January's elections.

All in a days work for some pricks living up to Saddam’s ideals. Hunt the murderers down, smoke them out and bring swift justice.
