Question for Marines/Soldiers that have served

I was just wondering what kind of stuff you get to keep after boot camp?, all I know for sure is you can keep the BDU's.

also, what are the chances of me getting a set of MARPAT?? i ship in June

all clothing and boots. all the other equipment is called "ta-50" or issued from your unit you are serving with and is returned to unit before you leave that unit like rucksack,lbe or assault vest, canteens, e-tool, shelter half, tent poles and stakes ect. one thing you get to keep also is duffle bags. you younger guys might modernize this list and correct me it's been 10 yrs. since i served last. :)

All new recruits are issued MARPAT in boot camp, and have been for several months.

Yes to all of the above. Uniforms and boots are yours to keep. All of your gear comes from supply.
