I don’t understand Why all these topics against France. Aren’t USA, France and Israel part of the same occidental civilisation with the same belief in Human right and freedom. France is also in war against the terrorism and has supported Israel quite a few times. I think if Israel take France for an enemy or France take Israel for an enemy, it would be exactly what the Islamic terrorist wants, breaking the links between the free world nations.

I wanted to post this in “A question to the French” but it has been locked then I was going to post it in “Fr. troops shoot …. (take 2)” and it happened the sane so not to be frustrated when I go to bed I decided to create a topic

You know why ? Very easy .
Because when Israel or America does A , they are getting the same responce from Shiraque . And then they are getting the same flame retorics by French posters in the forum .

And then when France does the same A , they are getting pissed , and doesn't understand why they are getting flamed .

This is just rotten politics . And someone should answer for it , once and for all . Speening door situation like this puts France under microscope , unlike the opposite situation where France took the high horse position . To make them answer and understand that rotten politic .

If only you'd visited this site at the beginning of 2003....this is just a quiet normal day !

Go back to around page 300 of the General Discussion...tell you what, you needed nerves to be French on these forums then.

You just need to understand that some are burning to say "we told you so". They long for a massive attack on EU soil in general and French soil in particular(forgetting that EU has suffered from terrorism, including Palestinian terrorism, as early as the beginning of the 70s).

So every time they see a glimpse of light in the darkness of their prejudice, i.e the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, they come to expand their hatred under the pretence of "trying to understand".

Problem is, on the Côte d'Ivoire thingy, both the US and UN support France. Alas....

I can only speak for myself , I am a proud french citizen confident in the mission of our country in IC , and frankly do not see any remote comparison to anything in Israel or Iraq for that matter. The last person I would have to justify our actions in IC , is certainly an angry Israeli.Bottom line is we're not Israel, and IC is not the West Bank or Gaza.

Yes moughoun, since James has abdicated his responsibilities I now blame you. ;)

I am amazed that anyone who frequents a military board would be shocked at and feel the need to point out that civilian casualties, collateral damage does occur when men in uniform from any country pull the triggers on their firearms. They do so without regard for their respective country's policies. They do so because they feel threatened and wish to protect their mates and themselves from harm. Soldiers are soldiers. Their country of origin really means little.

I think its because the US and Israel are fed up to the back teeth with being called killers and slaughters of innocent people. And when a european army finally gets the same unjustified bull**** leveled at them, its a case of "hah ! see what it feels like !!! "

Anyway, I dont care what the europe peeps think because lucky them their friends hasnt been blowen up in a bus (kids from my school) or they never faced everyday terrorist attacks (like it were before IDF started to rock 'n' roll and now they are stopping 97% of the attacks)

So guys...dont waste your time...one day they will face what we faced (I hope not becuase I dont want innocent people to die even if they are french lol) and disscuss about things that really matter

Maybe it happens more often with some armies and less with others ... due to specific situations ...

But this is only speculation i've no scientific stats about these ****.

Come on, we (in EU) had a lot of terrorists attacks since the 70ies, in airplanes, subways, on ships, and so on ...

The first anti terrorists squads were invented in Europe because of that.

Do not try to change the history.

I dont think there is any concrete evidence to say Americans are more heavy handed with firepower than any other army. The problem is they are deployed if far MORE massive numbers than a euro army and these incidents are of course going to happen more. Which in turn the media and stereotypes pick up on as being "the gun ho american cowboy"

As for the Israeli's, they fight for the surivial of their homeland. I dont think many nations (especially europe) have the right to comment on how a conflict like this should be fought. Its very easy to say that Israelis are heavy handed, especially from a country that hasnt tasted warfare on home soil in the last 60 years. And especially countries that were crushed by the german army, and who could only stand there helpless.

Seriously,Artillery has been used in Urban combat since ww1 if I'm not mistaken.

1.A good team and a good FOO will be able to drop rounds with pin point accuracy.......we used to call them Long range snipers!!
2.Psychologically the sound of shells coming in from miles away is pretty feckin scary.........
3.Are they any different from other IDF(Indirect Fire)systems such as Mortars and FROG rockets?
I can tell you that being in the greenzone back at the begining of August was pretty hairy hearing the thump of mortars incoming, and the whistling of rockets going overhead.....so I'd say no 2. is very noteworthy!!
