Would it be illegal to take something like that and sell it? After the fall of the USSR, people were selling Lenin and Stalin statues all over the place. I wouldn't mind having something like this in my backyard.
Here's an authentic Lenin statue in Seattle for instance:

Would make a good lawn ornament I guess..Probably do good on ebay too. Although shipping would be a pain.

It has that image. There's at least one Lenin statue in NYC. But this one seems to be a true monument, while that one is basically a souvenir.
