please help me! I know the lay out of the load bearing equipment but I'm not sure of what is the standard load. The back pouch has three compartments for...?, and the two front pouches are for rifle mags, grenades(how many?). e-tool?, fighting knife?, 1st aid kit?.
Does anyone have photos of the inside of the ammo pouch and rear pouch.
I've seen the Army web sight but it has very little photos of the LBE/BELT KIT and none of the inside of it.

You don't need to post 3 times to get an answer ;)

The back pouch has three compartments for...?,

1) Gas mask (though, the mask is usually held in its own cover bag, which is attached to the side of the combat belt, so that pocket is often empty).
2) Messkit/mess tin. (also hearing protector often kept here)
3) Rain gear (either cloak or separate pants&coat).

and the two front pouches are for rifle mags, grenades(how many?)

There's pouch for 3 mags, and a general-use pouch, that can contain just about anything the soldier has decided to put in there. there's 2 (or was it 4? hmm...) places for grenades in the front of the combat belt.

e-tool?, fighting knife?

No SOP for these, each places these to his own liking...

1st aid kit?.

Kit? :P
Each soldier carries a first aid bandage, which is placed in the thigh pocket. Medics carry a separate medic bag.

It's a pouch, there's not much to see inside p-)

The inside? You mean the contents?

Nope (the new generation battle vest is not in use yet). The back pouches can be removed when not needed.

I suppose you mean the M/85 webbing. Too bad that there isn't exactly any good pictures of it out there . However , I'm sure that if anyone can find pictures of it , it must be Mr. Kekkonen..

The image is pretty big , so I decided to only include the url

One of these , perhaps ?

Oh , and that reminds me. There was this picture - thread a while ago about the Finnish peacekeepers in Eritrea.

In one of the pictures , one of the guys was wearing a non - Finnish vest (and I do say vest , not webbing) in the picture.

Oh , someone dig that up..

you mean this?

That's the Arktis 1601 jungle battlevest.
Price is 125€ in Finland, which I consider to be pretty cheap :)

Well, the peacekeepers are (obviously) allowed to buy and use their own vests, so maybe you just happened to see a bunch of people who had their own gear? :)

The standard issue M/85 combat belt looks like this (http://www.mil.fi/laitokset/talv/equipment1_en.dsp)

Hemppis, where's that picture from?
Oh, and using your own kit, atleast in this country, is not something that is obvious. ;) Wish it was though...

Probably Eritrea, judging from the desert camo...

More of that in this (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7094) thread :)

Yeah , that was the picture I was looking for.

However , as Mr. Hemppis said , it's very much possible that the "international troops" in question might've had their own stuff..
