You also need 2x 1-quart canteens with their respective pouches, and if you wanted, a butt-pack. But so far it's right on.

Also a M9(?) bayonet with scabbard.

If your talking "Issue", add a gas mask and bag, Alice pack, sleeping bag, E-tool, poncho, poncho liner, field jacket (pre Gortex), and dont forget the useless shelter half and stakes.(Think thats it).
That is all 742 gear which you have to turn back in.
The cammies and boots are part of initial issue. We got 4 sets of cammies, and two pair of boots, one leather, one jungle.

Pretty complete. Are you replicating a specific unit or period?

This is what I used to wear:

http://img117.exs.cx/img117/1892/load-c2.gif

LCE "Old school ALICE" (None of these high speed vests and MOLLE and ****)
1 Belt With the newer clip
2-3 M16 ammo pouches kinda on the sides
2 saw pouches in front (1 was for extra M16 mags)
1 Vietnam era butt pack in the back
2 canteens in the pouches right next to the M16 ammo pouches
1 Compass and pouch in front
1 Knife

Uniform:
Green "Vietnam" jungle boots
BDU's
Maroon Beret
K-pot (Kevlar helmet)
We were issued RBA 1st gen.
Pro mask and carrier

I didn't use any metal clips for anything. I cut them all off and secured everything on the belt with 550 cord.

I wore it kinda high on my waist, old school Ranger style, when not wearing body arnor, and for jumps.

Wanna know anything else, let me know
