I know over the years the SEALs and Special Forces have had ongoing exchange programs with foreign militaries. I know SF used to have one w/ the 22nd SAS and the SEALs have had them with the SBS, SASR, Kampfschwimmers, and the French combat swimmers.
My question is, is there an exchange program between Navy SEALs and Army Special Forces?
There was a pretty popular picture from the Gulf War w/ a SEAL in a DPV in Kuwait City after it had been liberated. Well it turned out the supposed SEAL was an SF officer serving an exchange with the Teams, but it did not specify if it was in a liasion capacity or if he was actually serving with a SEAL platoon.
I know Army and Air Force SOF have served as exchange instructors at the Naval Special Warfare Center.
But I was thinking more along the operational end. Say a SEAL petty officer and an SF sergeant go on a two year hitch with the other service. The SEAL in an ODA and the SF man in a SEAL platoon.
It be appreciated if anyone knew any info that might help me out. Thanks alot.
