I just came back from the doctors, and I stopped on the way home by the local Army Surplus. I managed to find a pair of flecktarn trousers, the price. $39.95 plus tax. Which comes to about $45.00.
Its ridicilous, I'm going to look again but would anyone in the Toronto area know any surplus stores where you can find flecktarn's for a cheap price...??

Bartek, come to Poland - we can get you flecktarn (trousers, blouse, fleece, goretex parka+pants) at some 100 - 150$ total. It's cheapish here. Try www.militaryarea.pl for start, they got plenty of BW gear (including some IDZ things) - maybe they'll ship abroad.
Trousers cost there about 17 zloty there so its no even 10$.

your avatar makes me thinking you are a jew, do you really want to use a camoflague that was already used by the Waffen-SS????

Duh , the Flecktarn itself was never used by the SS (yeah , maybe something resembling it but not 'Flecktarn' ), so you've got no worries..
The Flecktarn has always been used by Bundeswehr - troops , not the SS , so I see no need to scare anyone by using the "Nazi" - word.

It seems really stronlgy like the Flecktarn is based on such ones

Yeah , so ?
They resemble each other (and I can see where Flecktarn got it's "general feel" from) , but Flecktarn has never been used by the SS. Now , my point to you , my good man , is to correct your statement that declared Flecktarn as something that was;
a camoflague that was already used by the Waffen-SS????
No. Wrong. Flecktarn was developed for the Bundeswehr during the latter part of the 80's (if I can remember correctly it entered service in 1990 or 1991). The various SS - camouflage patterns you have here are not Flecktarn , although they do resemble each other nevertheless.
Don't go shouting around that SS used Flecktarn , since it never did , especially to a Jewish person.

the SS uniforms (they actually used several different types of camo) were typically called 'tiger' camoflage. its resemblance to 'flecktarn' is due to a similar development process. in the same way you can add 1+1+1+1 or add 2+2 and get the same answer.
as far as jewish feeling go, i've seen pics from the 1948 israeli war of independence showing them equipped with old german mausers and MG42s. whatever works.
nice pics all around, though. :)

Ugh, Not that conversation again ......
BTW: The Israeli Air Force used Messerschmitt Bf109s to great effect (though I believe some or all of them were the Czech made version -- but still same design) into the 1950s.
To re-paraphrase this conversation from another thread on this board: Jew or no jew, use what works. Methinks the IDF perhaps more than any force out there today has honed that concept to a fine edge.

My friend (A German) makes some nice mods to Flecktarn uniforms. You can't see them all in this pic.

Good design, didn't know ATXS made these. I hope they will appear on their website anytime soon.
Do you know about any other stuff made by ATXS that is not advertised on their website?

Haven't heard anything recently. The chest rig in the first pic is also by ATXS.

I think it's odd that the russians are using cammo that is virtually a carbon copy of WW2 German patterns.

Methinks the IDF perhaps more than any force out there today has honed that concept to a fine edge.In fact those were Me109 with He111 Jumo engines, so those planes were "whole german", made in Czechoslovakia, but from german parts. They were called "S199" or "CS199".
