I was doing an exercise a few days ago and my assault vest has had about seven coats of mud. Does anyone else wash their webbing/vests? i.e throw it in the washing machine?

One thing I've done is washed my vest in a bucket----put a couple gallons of water in there and some dish soap, let it soak for a few hours, and you're done :D

Yep. Dawn works really well.
Hose as much off as you can and leave it at that. Kit looks silly clean. ;)

Do you maintain your weapon in that fashion? :slap:
If I wasn't an airsofter than yes I probably would take more care of my weapon. As it is any young lady that happens to stumble into my life gets the privilege currently. ;)
I don't see my kit suddenly exploding or critically failing just because its a little dirty and dusty. Plus I don't have anyone making me do press ups for not looking immaculate. :D

Let it dry, knock the mud off. Brush it off if you want, give it a good shake, get all the crap out of the pockets. Hose it down if you wish.
I wouldn't put it in the washer, or use and chemicals on it.

OK. I suppose I can live with that answer. Keeping your kit clean will help it last longer. Sabre is right about the chemicals though. Use mild detergent. Sleeping bag wash works well. We have this stuff called sportsman's wash that also helps cut down on the nvd signature as well. It is also really mild and you don't smell april fresh either....

SOP is to fill up a sink or bucket with warm soapy water and scrub or sponge the kit, on career courses you can get charged for showing up with dirty webbing, so I guess its bad.
Dont put it in the washing machine unless you want it to get a bit disintegratey at a critical moment.
How I clean mine is, after the mud an **** is dried on, I break it off, splash some water on it. An than spray Oxiclean on the stains, an brush it with a stiff brush.
Works all the time.

You want a little dirt on your webbing anyway as you will look like a right recruit with out-of-the-packet gear :)

Bucket of water, a dash of washing up liquid and a scrubbing brush followed by running it under the tap to clean off the soap suds. Respirator pouch gets gently washed inside and out because having a pouch full of fullers earth and a dirty resi will get you noticed, and not in a good way either. :)

Fine, we will start calling "soccer" "football" If you will consent to changing "suspenders" from meaning garter belt, and "pants" from meaning women's underwear. Needless to say I will not be shopping in London again for men's clothing until you do.

I put mine in the dishwasher and let it drip-dry. Works great.

Thats fine an all, except if your on Basic Training or something, an everything has to be spotless.

I found a bucket of water or simply hosing the vests off after srubbing the dirt out works good. Drip drying is the way to go.

lol :D You sure you dont mean washing machine (dishwasher: A machine for washing dishes)
I wouldnt use any chemicals washing vests and try to keep water to a minium as they are treated to stop showing heat patterns with IR equipment.
