I've grown very tired of war movies, TV shows and documentory's of late.
I swear you would think America fought Germany and Japan all by themselves.
There were plenty of British portrayed in Band of Brothers.

Yes, at least these:
An old man in a "funny" scene where Winters beats Sobel,
some guys wearing german uniforms,
some AA-guys leaving behind,
A stubborn tank commander who gets himself and his crew killed because he doesn't listen to the American NCO,
A grateful bunch of paratroopers who are rescued by E co. (the americans are frustrated because they make so much noise while the mission is going on)

I never said there wasent. I was just pointing out that according to all the doco's, TV shows, Movies you would think ww2 was a war only fought by the Americans. Thats all.

Wow! cry me a river. BoB is about American 101st airborne division. Why would they include anybody in there? You want fair, make your own movie about your own soldiers. Believe it or not, Hollywood's #1 audience are still Americans.

Watch these then:
A Bridge Too Far
The Longest Day
Bridge Over the River Kwai
Enemy At the Gates
The Battle of Britain
The Cockleshell Heroes
The Heroes of Telemark
Charlotte Grey (that one even has French characters [gasp!])
Hope and Glory
Das Boot
Stalingrad
The English Patient
These films are about British, RUssian, Canadian, Indian, and German troops, as well as Americans (in a few). I don't know of any Japanese WWII films though. My apologies.

I believe that the BBC are going to make a European "version" of BOB, along with a few other TV company' about different unit's during WW2, the Para's, the Pole's, ect let's hope it's good, and there is also talk of a mini series about the exploits of the SAS/LRDG in North Africa

Winters was played by a Pom, so there was a Brit in almost every scene. :P

Amazing by the way how the guy who plays Winters pulls off that American "accent". Until I watched the bonus footage and heard his British accent, I never knew he wasn't American...........

The Pacific BoB series is up in the air or at worst canceled. Stehphen Ambrose, the writer of Band of Brothers the book died a very short time ago (Oct 13, 2002 of lung cancer) in the middle of writing the Pacific story.
it's a great series and it's too bad the Pacific story wasn't finished.

Stephen Ambrose died? That's new to me, he was an excellent author. Hopefully they decide to continue with The Pacific series. I read somewhere they had already written a few episodes but I don't have an exact source.

1. The series followed a specific American unit.
2. Watch it again. Obviously, you missed out on the references made on the British and Russian forces...
3. Go make your own movie.

I read the book and bought DVD set when it came out (I usually wouldn't pay $60 for a DVD set) I have to find time to watch this a second time because it only gets better. Big TV and 5.1 sound is very important. :D

Winters, Liebgott, Martin, and Ranney were played by Brits. The actors that played Martin and Ranney were both in "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" as well.

I hate BoB.
I hate it so much.
When I watched the last episode I cried like a baby.
Of course, it might be contributed to getting shot down by a girl I had a crush on for three years.

Watched it obviously, 7 times, can't wait for speilberg and Hanks new series on the Pacific conflict I think it is.
anyone remember Winters words at the end of the series when he says, correct me if Im wrong:
'I cherish the words of what my Grandson said to me. He asked "Were you a Hero in the war Grandad" "No" I said "But I served in a company of Hero's" '
"****" I thought, that shot straight through me and I wasn't ready for it. Then came the waterworks, first and only time i've cried for a movie.
Now Im embarrased!
