All i see is the casing

....That would be a casing.
non-zero possibility
10-09-2003, 05:46 PM
the slide would still be back if it was there, thats the casing.
It is so close to the barrel that the gun would not be angled that far back yet if it even were a bullet and also it is obvious by the color that it is the casing.

I dont have a pic, but there is some rifles where you can see the bullet. Bullet sizes like a 30-06 or a .50. During a shooting competition the showed the bullet traveling down the range. And it wasnt a slow mo video. Real time

I have several pics of various projectiles in flight. I can post them if you want. But since I don't remeber where I got them I'd like to know what's policy regarding copyrights here.

Im pretty sure thats a shotgun...and if so, that answered a big question for me...
I thought the pellets just flew out of the barrel on their own...didnt know that they come out with a casing that peels off :cantbeli:

Thats a big wad of pellets, i'm thinking slug?
Or is a slug just a big chunk of metal?
Mortimer

Yeah, but ive fired hundreds of shotgun rounds... and i didnt think the pellets came out of a little plastic thing in mid air.. never found any after a shoot either.

What you see in the shotgun photo is the wad. The wad is used to hold the pellets, and when the shell is fired, the plastic base compresses and expands against the sides of the barrel to eliminate blow by and get the pellets out in a nice tight package. ie, less deformed pellets, and better patterns. All shot shells have a wad of some sort. There's hundred of types available for reloading.

Its not a slug, a slug is a big piece of lead about the size of the top half of your thumb.
