US warplanes (F-15E Strike Eagles most likely) bomb artillery batteries south of Basra.

my take- it's preemptive to prevent a preemptive attack on our massing troops using chem/bio weapons.

Also....Israel mobilizes 12,000+ reservists today in preparation of "retaliating" against any Iraqi attack.

and it's just about 4 hours until "the deadline."

Also...something like 20 Iraqi soldiers have already surrendered to Allied forces - although that's unconfirmed right now.

These little airstrikes have been gradually increasing over the last few months. I don't think this particular one is different. I think they hit 5 different targets in one day last week.

USSS ERT guys, not to be confused w/ the CAT teamers. ERT is part of the uniformed division of the Secret Service. They are usually jocked up and waiting for something to happen. If you recall the fence jumper at 1600 PA Ave who took one in the leg, it was an ERT guy who took the shot.
