Do USMC Tanker's use this CVC vest at all? Or do they just use the Interceptor?

I'm drunk.... back in the 90's they did. We called it "the chicken vest". Can't remember why either. Oh, sorry, I'm in the army.

Sorry for digging in old topics, but what kind of protection gives this vest? Pistol bullets or only shrapnels?

That's what we call the "2nd Chance Vest" and no, we don't use it anymore. Some of the old timers still have theirs, but we're not authorized to use them, even during training.
We wear the interceptor overseas, and stateside we train as we fight.
It's not really good for much of anything, it feels even thinner than the vests that cops wear. I doubt it would stop a pistol round, but it's possible it could be good for minor shrapnel (if there ever was such a thing).
