Help out a computer illiterate here. I have some progs that autolaunch on Windows start-up. I need to shut some of them off. I did this once before but now I have forgotten how to do it...

Help me, anyone?

Click Start --> Run

Type : "msconfig"

now click the tab "start up".....and you should be able to disable the programs which launch up, and also if you find programs that you dont need, then follow the path and delete the programs.

Go to Run and type in msconfig. Click on Startup tab and unchecked all the programs you don't want to run. Click on Apply and restart your computer.

Edit: too late

1. Start/Run/services.msc

Disable the ones you dont need/want.
Here (http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm)'s a good site of useless Windows services you can disable.

2. Some progs might need to be removed from msconfig (even in WinXP)
