Hey, I've been lurking around here for sometime but due to errors everytime I tried to register, I couldn't. Well thanks to the webmaster I finally got registered. :D
I'm a military enthusiast but not a hardcore one and I don't play airsoft nor like it, but if you do, thats cool I won't flame you or anything. I come for a military family and I plan on going to the Naval Academy. Well thats just a little about myself, have a good one.

sweet. have fun. I am a freshman in college now studying Pre-med biology.
I planned on applying to the Naval Academy, and so I applied to the summer seminar program, the easiest program to get into (considering my grades and test scores). God did not want me to go in the military, and so I was rejected from the summer seminar. woot

Well I would like to get a degree and a bid to BUD/S (only 16 bids per graduation class at USNA are offered) Meaning, I don't have to go to fleet for two years and then try to get into a BUD/S class. I know that becoming a SEAL isn't easy and since I'd be a officer it would be even harder. But I'd like that kind of lifestyle and Annapolis grads usually do well at BUD/S and since I live in Annapolis it would be nice to live that close to college.

also consider that officers don't spend as much time 'in the action' as enlisted men.
isn't it like 5-8 years in action and then taking command post?

Well my GPA is a 3.8 now and by the end of the month it should be around a 4.0, I run cross country and am on crew so I think I'm ready for what the Academy has to offer. I've got to wait till 2/2/04 so sign up for the seminar, which I plan on. Well you have fun too and enjoy college. :)

Make sure you have your **** wired tight. When I was in high school(damn it seems like ages ago) I applied to the Coast Guard Academy(don't laugh). I had a ton of things going for me, varsity athlete, 3.5+ GPA, volunteer work, all that junk and got denied :slap: , go figure. Ended up working out in the long run for me. Good luck.

Cool man, good luck. I visited the place my junior year in HS. I met with a former classmate of mine from high school and we were sitting there eating lunch in the hall and he tells us he has to chew his food in a certain amount of bites and stuff. LOL, I was umm okay. He's a junior now, very smart guy and very good athlete [we played together in the TN HS Football State Playoffs in 2000, we lost first round but also had 1/3 the # of players as the other team =( ]
I wanted to go to West Point but my grades weren't competitive enough. I only had a 3 GPA and didn't get above a 30 on my ACT. I spent too much time playing Baseball, Football, and running X-Country. My best friend and classmate is a freshman at West Point (He's third-generation, grrrr). Oh well, I'm lovin' ROTC.
I hope you do well, Study for the ACT and SAT!

My brother was accepted to the Naval Academy, but opted to do Naval ROTC at Colorado University instead (in his sophomore year now). I don't think he really wanted to spend 4 years of his life under quarantine. ;)

Yeah, my friend was all for USNA then decided he wanted to have the "college expirence" (booze, ***, parties, ect.) instead of four years of "boot camp" which isn't exactly correct and he knows it too. So he is now going to do ROTC somewhere. :| I always tell him to think with is brain and not his ****... Oh, well. ;)

I'd say you're looking at the wrong academy, but thats just me. Look at the name. But hey, if you wanna wear white pants and cool white shoes, then more power to ya.
But me, I'm all about the army side of things.

My bro wants to be a fighter pilot, hence why he joined the Navy (and Air Force sucks :P ). Although, I do think he had a good time going on a cruise on an Ohio-Class Submarine...

Yeah well his friend got into the USAFA on a lacrosse scholarship and basically left in the middle of the year simply because of all the bull**** there. I don't blame him.

I was sold on cool white shoes... just kidding. There is joke told in Annapolis and it goes like this...
Q: How are Cadets and Midshipmen alike?
A: They both were accepted to Westpoint.
Its kinda dumb and I'm sure you have one about USNA. :D
