Normal soldiers "don't like" GROM and additionaly mod doesn't have idea what to do with them in Iraq thats why they bring them home, if MoD will find any use* for them I'm sure they will be in plane faster than you can blink you eye :)

*I don't say there is no use of them, but generaly mod doesn't have idea how to use their potential, they are to good for patrol duties ;)

But.... in Poland we have old pricks in MOD who finished their studies in Moscow Military Institute... they do not like young oficers especially those educated in western countries or USA. Their favorite tactic is human wawe... thus the problem that grom which is not ordinary unit is considered dangerous to them. They are afraid that yound experienced officers can take their desks some day... It is still legacy of comunism and we need 10-15 years more to change the way generals think. So far they are not flexible love paperwork and army is full of absurds.. one example: When our polish soldiers arrived to Kuwait and were transported to central Iraq in trucks they had EMPTY magazines since those idiots in HQ were afraid that they might hurt themselves or bystanders... so if you don't trust own soldiers, then...

another example: after every firefight soldiers had to report how many rounds they used and why, later it was checked very strictly not to mention that even rounds batch numbers were checked... so basicaly after you shoot in air to disperse crowd you were in big ****... sorry but this is not how modern army works... now things changed a bit and I think that iraqi mission is very beneficial to our army since we can compare theory with reality and improve our procedures and equipment but still we need to improve our chain of command...
