Techno sucks.
Don't listen to it.
Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Guns 'N' Roses.
There are some good bands.
Well, I'm a novice at discerning which songs are techno and which ones are trance, but here are some of either:
Ian Van Dahl stuff
Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes
Armin van Buuren stuff
DJ Encore
Blank and Jones - Desire
I hope you enjoy them :)
just buy those trance/techno cd's that have a good collection of songs from different artists, usually they have the most popular ones
For some techno/trance (I never know the difference) that was probably released before some of you were born try any number of tracks by the KLF.
Recommendations include "Last train to transcentral" and "3am Eternal"
Some of the more bizarre things they ever did include burning one million pounds in cash on a remote Scottish island, firing blank filled machine guns at the audience during an awards ceremony (They only did that after lawyers warned them that throwing buckets of pigs blood at people "might get them in trouble") and I was recently informed that they once sent a dead sheep to the office of their record lable director.

Get some real trance in ya. Listen to Astral Projection or if you want something different, try psy-trance like Infected Mushroom
KLF.

Nope, they retired in the early 90's saying they'd only make another record when world peace was declared.

DO NOT LISTEN TO INFECTED MASHROOM ! Their Psy trance is way to progressive . Their last "I am a supervisor" set almost made me commit suicide .

For the record, that is ****.
Anyway, this band is awesome: http://www.psychaesthetic.net/
It's hard electronic rock, and it makes Marilyn Manson sound like nursery music. I'm also going to suggest DJ Tiesto, Leftfield, Prodigy and Markus Schulz.

It's not techno.. little harder but better! ..: dj luna (www.djluna.nl)
and if you want some hardcore.. (more harder then techno) you can try Korsakoff - stardome ..
and ehm..:
For some techno/trance (I never know the difference) that was probably released before some of you were born try any number of tracks by the KLF.
Techno is more 'technical' you can hear more (kinda) electric sounds.. and trance is more for dancing..
Oh and hardcore is more harder, and typical dutch music
But ehm.. that;s enough?

For the last time people, you don't know what techno is! And they're not songs, they're tracks.
Get some real trance in ya. Listen to Astral Projection or if you want something different, try psy-trance like Infected Mushroom
woot !!! The Israeli trance at its best. Every Israeli should be proud of those artists since they're the only ones who made it really big worldwide (with a possible exception of Yahel).
DO NOT LISTEN TO INFECTED MASHROOM ! Their Psy trance is way to progressive . Their last "I am a supervisor" set almost made me commit suicide .
Their last album is not psy trance anymore. So now all old school psy-heads are pissed at them. It's still a find album if you forget about their past.
Dj Mystik
Huh? You know that Mystik is a phoney artist? 99% of tracks contributed to him are complete ripoffs. Give me your favorite track of his and I'll tell you who the real artist is.

Magic Box isn't that bad too, Europop more than techno I think but it's still nice...

Alot of the stuff you guys mentioned is not even considered tech...LOL...Best suggestions posted were Laurent Garnier and The KLF, can't go wrong with those two. Warning though The KLF's music is about 15 years old, still great though.
They were also jailed in the late 80's, early 90's for causing a cattle stampede. Turned out the stampede started because the system which the KLF were playing was playing close to 140+ db, scaring the living ****e out of the cattle..lol....
For quality funky tech I recommend the following:
Carl Cox
Laurent Garnier
Technasia
Valentino Karzyani
Samuel Sessions
Billy Nasty
For hard storm trooper type tech:
Dj Rush
Andreas Kremer
Dj Boss
Manu Le Malin
For chill dancebale stuff:
Richie Hawtin
Tobi Neumann
Alexi Delano
anywho peace!
