Touched up WWII pics

I thought it would look better if i touched up the photos and take away the white glossy affect the old cameras gave pictures

can anyone idenify the unarmed man to the far left? i had no idea what that was...

Who that is specifically I do not know but I do know the photo series. These troops are Waffen SS under Pieper during the battle of the bulge and they are staged newsreel stills taken by a German reporter.

If you see the whole thing you can tell that it's staged by all of the people standing around and basically getting caught where they shouldn't be.

That last photo is indeed a series of staged photos, the After the Battle book "Battle of the Bulge, Then and Now" has a complete series of photos and diagrams on the incident.
