Looks like an AA platform - what air assets are going to be attacking the US forces?

that's besides the point and since it has stingers I kinda figured it was for Anti Aircraft purposes :P

Have you never seen Hamburger Hill?

Can't remember the exact quote but it went along the lines of "tell everyone to put dog tags around bother their feet so when their head gets blown off we can identify them."

that doesnt look like captured ammunition and seems like a strange way to be carrying a bunch of hand grenades and M203 rounds. A bit dangeruse woundt you saY? shouldnt they be in wood containers or somthing?

Ahh yes. I was going to post a link to this gallery a few weeks ago, but forgot. It's only a matter of time before someone finds iraq_104. Then the mp.net fun begins. :P

These are U.S. commandos. One Marine asked if they were Delta Force. The bearded yahoo replied "I dunno"
I don't get the wisdom of tearing around the country in Iraqi vehicles with Iraqi weapons. Dumb.

OMG it's delta!!!!111elevenoneonefourteen

IDF-issued boots have slots in each one for a dogtag - these dogtags are smaller than the regular ones, and are tightly locked in.

It's a HK G36 sight, and you can see some iraquis stealing parts from a tank ( I can't remeber if it was a T-55 or a russian recovery tank) There were a lot of tanks around our base in Diwaniyah.

BTW, it's very difficult to aim with a camera in the sight !!!

I think is not to identify someone when his head blown off, but putting the dogtags around the boots, you don't make any noise.

From the caption it sounds like it was unexpended ammo 'turned in' by US forces after the initial operations. This would also make sense as to why its just in cardboard boxes in that picture.
