For the sake of pedanticism, here's a tiny correction:
In July 2002, 13e RDP was integrated into the newly-created Brigade des Forces Speciales Terre (Army Special Forces Brigade), so they're part of COS now. Oh and there's the Air Force Division des Operations Speciales (C-160 and C-130) and the EHS.
A good site with lots of 13e RDP pics is: dragon.para.free.fr
And for Commandos Marine (CASM Hubert) in particular there's : commandohubert.free.fr
The pics are taken from the French Ministry of Defence site: http://www.defense.gouv.fr/actualites/dossier/d114/index.htmwww.defense.gouv.fr
A good site with GCP (they're called GCP now (since 1996), not CRAP) undergoing desert training in Djibouti and freefall training, go to : brikolo.free.fr
For some general pics, try:

www.armees.com
Cheers.

Here's a few links to articles I wrote back in 98/99 on French SF units. Some of it's a little out of date.
As stated before, all of the 11BP CRAP teams are now part of the Groupement de Commandos Parachutiste (GCP); the 1er RIPMa, 13ere RDP, and DOAS are part of the Army's BFST.
COFUSCO is now called FORFUSCO.
CPA 10 has been expanded and CPA 40 provides security teams for CSAR missions.

That would mean that it would probably be the Spanish Santa Barbara (formerly CETME) LAG-40.

CPA 40 was disbanded in 1996.
According to the French MOD programme for 2003-2008, the BFST will be augmented by the addition of another regiment from the 11e BP, which will specialise in HUMINT, foreign internal defence, and long range vehicle patrols (something along the US Special Forces model). The transfer was to have taken place this summer, but there has been no move yet. Has anyone heard anything about this business?

Concerning Iraq, I think that we would had better kicked Sadam’s ass a few years ago during Gulf War, but it’s never to late...
And has all those which speak about war, and which one never made, there are times or it would be to better reflect before speaking...

All that we slag off the French remember these are politicians decisions. They are the cowards and the hypocrites. Not the soldiers. I have the greatest respect for the French army and I believe most professionals were itching to go fight Saddam. They did in the first Gulf War after all under a different president. Would the americans take the same decision under Clinton? I doubt it.

Those pictures were of a low opening jump, but the picture above shows some interesting equipment. That wouldn't happen to be a high opening Nav Board, perhaps? With that intigated NVG helmet system, does one just wear ordinary wind-protection goggles? Notice the o2 system, gloves and insulated boots. The suit probably has some sort of heating system for a long descent...
Thanks for sharing!

The indoor training centre "Centre de Tir Adapté" is located in Pau where the HQ of the Army SF and the Army SF helos are also located and it's the newest in Europe (finished in September 2002). It is 100 metres long, 44 metres wide and 27 high.
It's six storeys high and can be configured to look like anything; inside, one can find different set ups, from an Embassy to a supermarket....

Hey I finally tried to post some crap of my own pics!!!
good luck to me!
here is a scan of a COS coin given to me by some of their own. They were great dudes I spent a long time working with...
as much flack as we give the French these guys were very switched on and wicked hard drinkers to boot...prior to this experience I had only really been with a Batgen and the FFL (not counting the times since or mil airports) but I have been lucky to work with them since.

I wonder if the FAMAS is reliable as the French soldiers p-)
A couple of points, just food for thought...
If you have never met a French soldier, you should not make inferences about their conviction or ability to fight. It only makes you look ingnorant.
As someone already pointed out, politicians decide what wars will be fought. I know the somalis were terrified of the French soldiers, and the French seem to be doing a pretty good job elsewhere in Africa.
The FAMAS is a surprisingly good weapon.
If it weren't for the French, there would be no United States. Period.
It's fine to disagree and slag 'em in good fun, "surrender monkeys" is just fun to say. But I try to keep these things in mind.
