Im a chicago cubs fan. I like the cubs alot, I always have (n im canadian).
I was watching the game when the person in foul territory "caught" the ball. I too at first was a lil annoyed in believing moise's alou had a good chance at catching the ball, but thats not the point. What happened to this poor cubs fan (who was a cubs fan all of his life) was all but blamed for the cubs losing the series. He had to be escorted from the field by security personel...which comes to my rant

If half of those people tossing **** at him a booing him and calling him names are a prime example of what i'd like to call f_cking dumbass's. If those were true cubs fan's they would have realised that no matter that he got the ball the cubs lost anyways...all by themselves. Not because of him reaching for a baseball (because thats what everyone wants when they go to the game...to get a homerun or a foul ball)...the gross media attention and the reactions of the fans in chicago sickens me ...like it isnt bad enough that he a life long cubs fan has to live with that decision all of his life (to try to catch the ball)....he just doesnt need the media f_ck nuts and dumbass people making it worse.

It reminded me of soccer roits were you can get lynched for sticking for the wrong teams or sitting in the wrong area. What has this world come to when we look for the smallest excuse to put the blame elsewere? It was the cubs fault all the way...if they were a better team they would play in the world series....so they lost it themselves...not the fan going for the souviener.

yeah I totally agree with you. That poor guy's name and face has been on most of the major news papers, and in chicago...that guys as good as dead.

Well they even have a police car sitting in front of his house.

On the news they recreated what happened and there was no way that guy could have seen Alou coming for that angle.

By the fan interfering with the play, it makes you wonder if the Cubs really are cursed. ;)

Oh sure and it wasn't a dribler down the first base line through his legs that lost the series for Boston.....

It's A Curse!!!

I'm a Cub fan but yeah, they suck. I had hope for them last year, but it's gone now. It seems like they're always plagued by injuries and do just good enough to give you hope, but always collapse in the end. :(
