It's a British documentary (http://www.longwayround.com/lwr.htm) about two actor friends (One of who just happens to be Ewan McGregor, the other is a guy called Charley Boorman) who get the genius idea of riding their motorbikes from London to New York via this route (Taken from the website) -

Setting off in London in April 2004, Ewan and Charley travelled through some of the most beautiful, and at times dangerous, terrain the world has to offer. Crossing over into mainland Europe, they rode through France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, Alaska, Canada before arriving 115 days later at their final destination, New York City, USA.

If you get the chance to watch this (On SKY in the UK and on Bravo in the States) you should take it, not only are they a genuinely nice pair of blokes, it's also very, very funny, at times they're like a pair of twelve year olds and it's hysterical to watch. There's also a book available which hopefully I'll be buying in the next few days.

Ewan does alot of that kind of stuff. I watched a documentary he did about the polar bears in Churchill Manitoba a year ago.
Hes a really nice guy.

I saw a book for the motorcycle documentary in the store a few days ago. And caught the tail end of the doc on TVO a few weeks ago.

They decided to support a charity throughout the trip and picked UNICEF. It was great to see them meeting kids who are suffering due to the Chernobyl disaster and stuff like that.

The thing that had me hooked is the random crap that happens, and it happens to anyone who's travelling, it's just this time it got caught on camera. At one point they're pulled over by the police in Slovakia. As McGregor puts it afterwards - "The rozzers pulled us over. He looked at the bikes, told us the English football scores, got back in his car and buggered off..." It was also great because that's the first time I've heard anyone say "rozzers" in years..
