Eh I mean Videos ;)

http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg3.jpg

The MG3 fires around 1200 rounds per minute - with 820 meters per second, a lot of firepower, one of the best MGs ever made.

being drunken AND armed at the same time is a typical one, as example

There are german soldiers who are not drunk at firing? Not possible... *rofl* just kidding... but the units at home (not in action) have often alcohol-problems -_-''

Conversation:

MG-Gunner after fireing: "Ready!"
Coporal: "Okay, move, move...!"

After driving:

Coporal: "Ambush at 10 o'clock, fire free, fire!"

False alarm. It is ok for him to host the video. I gave the permission to him back in 2002.

OK, somebody wanted to know sth about the unit.

The video was taken in the first week of July 1999 in a German ammo-dump in Erebino, Macedonia. The unit is the "Sicherungszug der Stabs- und Versorgungskompanie NatBefH i. E." ;) Most of those soldiers are from Jäger-Btl. 22 (Donaueschingen), but there were some conscripts from a Logitics-Btl, too.

Yeah, it was real fun there.

For those of you who haven't seen the other scenes:

What are some duties of Jäger units? Do they have any specialties? I know of one unit (probably not around anymore) the 23rd Jäger I think specialized in mountain warfare. Kick ass vids too. woot

Jäger are specialists for urban warfare, fighting in rough terrain and in using different kinds of weapons. (short description)

But there are Gebirgsjäger [Mountian-Warfare] and Fallschirmjäger [Paratroopers]. The german Jäger means just Infantry-Soldier which uses light Vehicles but almost his feet to get to the fight. The (Panzer)-Greandiere are Jägers which operates from Marder (like the M2-Bradley or Warrior) and drive with them into battle.

Cool thanks for the info on the Jägers. I've always wondered how their duties have changed compared to how they were back in the 1700's. Back then they were special rifle units, the Hesse Hanau Jäger Corps, the unit I'm a re-enactor in, was one of few units packing rifles in paid British service for the American War. Thanks for the info.

Gut erkannt. Absolutely right. It was a so-called "Mun-Verbrauchsschiessen" (Engl.: "Get-rid-of-your-surplus-ammo-shootout") ;)

Had to "get rid of" 25.000 rounds of 9mm, 5.56 and 7.62 ;)

German "Jäger" units are just simple light infantry units, while the so called "Panzergrenadiere" are mechanized Infantry.

You "have to" consume an amount of ammunition to receive the same amount for the next time.
