Hi all,

After viewing this forum for a while, this is my first post.

I am looking for pictures of modern military motorcycle used by the world armed forces especially US Army, USMC, British SAS (Gulf War 1), IDF and Japanese JGSDF.

ATV pictures will also do !

Thanks in advance,

KLR 250-D8 Motorcycle
The KLR is a lightweight, rugged, commercial, cross-country motorcycle that has been modified for military use. It provides an alternate means of transporting messages, documents, and light cargo between units. The KLR 250 may also be used by forward observers, military police and reconnaissance personnel. The size and construction make it highly mobile on all roads and cross-country terrain. The 1991 model KLR replaces the 1984 model.

All armies use the motorbike. Very useful for scouting ahead of convoy or
carrying messages from one truck to another.

Ok, I think the ideal military motorcycle would be a Ducati 996 with an unlimited service plan, and I wish they would issue me mine ASAP. ;)

I saw this bike at the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary party in Milwaukee 2 months ago...Orange County Choopers in an Air Force theme.....we don't get the show down here yet, but it sounds pretty funny.

With a $350 Billion budget you'd think they could squeeze in a couple of choppers under the radar for "running messages".

Down here the Transport guys appear to be using old Kawasaki motorbikes and newer 4 wheelers.

Ok, if anyone here has seen American Chopper on TLC, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say Comanche Bike. Orance County Choppers http://www.orangecountychoppers.com make some awesome theme bikes. Other than the Fire Bike, the Comanche is my favorite. Here are some pics for thos interested:

The fact that the US military uses Kawasakis says all that needs to be said about the American motorcycle industry. Harleys are all show and no go.

Yes, I own a Suzuki, albeit for road use only (SV650). My brother's a bit of a survivalist type, and he swears by his Kawasaki dual-sport.

Ancient Thread....
I typed in UK armed forces Motorcycles into google..... THis is what I got:
Harley Davidson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley_Davidson) MT350E (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MT350E) and Honda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda) R250 motorcycles are used by dispatch riders and for a variety of liaison and traffic control tasks.

All according to wiki.
