It seems the two now dead iraqi soldiers below already wanted to surrender ( white flag beside the one on the left )... and two marine brits looking down in undistinguishable reaction.

maybe was hit with artillery....that doesn't reconize white flags

Or maybe they were those scumbags that pretended to surrender then started shooting.

An F117-A Nighthawk may be advanced, but it cant see that little white flag. Bodies are in pretty bad shape.

my guess...
artillery shell hit close by and the blast killed them.
or
these guys are conscripts, so maybe an officer or an Iraqi Army regular saw them trying to surrender and shot them.
