I can't tell what's wrong, but I went and looked at some of the others and theres some inaccuracies and outright errors with the weapons. A US 'Green Beret' wielding a DMR, a 'SEAL helicopter sniper' with an M14 with what looks to be an AN/PVS-2 mounted about a normal scope. The French foriegn legionaire packing a FAMAS with both an Aimpoint Comp M and a Trijicon Reflex/II. Those last 2 just don't make sense.

Don't know about the Green Beret, but SEAL helicopter snipers have used M-14s. Couldn't say about the night optic above it though.

I was talking more about the double scope mount then the weapon in question.

These "action figures" pictures are really weird...
The company claims they make "Action Figures" but as a modeler and 1/35 figures painter myself what I see here are 120 mm figures sculpted and painted by a highly talented person. The background buildings are clearly scratchbuilt like the ones we build for a vignette...
So, here is my question: what does it have to do with "real" action figures like Dragon or BB Toys or 21st Century??
Are those figures only static masters for coming articulated action figures or is this company simply BS us?
They look like 120mm resin figures. From what I read on the web site back grounds are included.

you have to realise that BBI or Blue Box toys are also cheaper then Dragon's line of figures, I find they have weapons and or equiptment that is out of scale, But then again you get what you pay for this German Soldier of the SOLDAT series comes with everything issued to a german Private in WWII as authentically recreated to 1/6th scale as possible.
BBI is ook if you prefer something a little less breakable as Dragons stuff can be quite fragile, I have a few weapons and belt Buckles that have needed some Super Glue. But Dragon is by far the supirior product for authenticity of its models.
This pic was not taken by me.

That's correct. It's 6 inches "action" figure with no articulation but painted well.
Mcfarlane have their own plan of "Soldiers Line" in 2005, but not be revealed yet. I can't wait but bought one of their few available humanbeing soldiers -- Colonial Marine Corporal Hicks.

MCFARLANE TOYS ANNOUNCES NEW SOLDIERS FIGURE LINE
"McFarlane's Military Official Lineup; Coming May 2005
January 14, 2005
McFarlane Toys is proud to finally announce the official lineup for one of our most-anticipated lines of the year. The first in our ongoing McFarlane's Military series is set to be released in May of 2005.
A line of soldier action figures is a concept we've been tossing about for quite some time. After taking a long look at what was currently available on the market, we thought we had something to add. Our take on soldiers will -- at least in the beginning -- focus on modern American troops from all major service branches. We will put out series of soldiers in accurate uniforms and equipment, and sculpted in real, life-based action poses.
These are not generic, static "army men"; they're fully detailed representations of American soldiers in authentic uniforms and equipment, sculpted in standard McFarlane scale (6 to 7 inches). We may someday branch out into other countries and other time periods, but for now we're concentrating on the current four main branches of the U.S. Military.
Here's the lineup for Series 1:
U.S. Army Ranger
U.S. Navy SEAL
U.S. Marine Corp. Recon sniper
U.S. Marine Corp. Recon soldier
U.S. Army desert soldier
U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, CCT
We are moving right along in the sculpting of this initial line and should have final approved photography and more details to share soon. Neither the Department of Defense nor any of its components has approved, endorsed or authorized this product."

I've got the 4ID Dusty Trails figure right here next to my PC. Bought it for AUD$29.95 from a toystore in Springwood, Brisbane - Queensland.
It looks great alongside my 1/35 dioramas, AFV's and stuff :D

i thought the 101 was airborne :S
101 is actually an airmobile (helicopter) unit but they still carry the Airborne name, the only primarily airborne units in the US Army are the 82nd, and the regiment based in Italy (whose designation escapes me at the moment).
The sculpts on the Mcfarlane stuff looks god but i would hardly call them action figures (isnt the guy with the M4/203 combo missing his body armor?). I'll stick to my 12 inch kitbashes....

Hmm i find that BBI is more expensive than Dragon, where do you get yor figures from? I agree on the scale issueespecially BBIs early rifle mags, the look too small and their boots r too big. the best stuff is Toy Soldier, more expensive than either dragon or BBI but still cheaper then Hot Toys (which will run u over $100 a figure, but they r sooo good looking!)

One trivia read from spawn.com. The head sculpture of the soldier with SAW in the teaser pic is based on one Mcfarlane staff (Dion), who was a 101st during 1st Gulf War.
Mcfarlane figures are actually more like statues, which does not conflict with your interest in real "action" figures.
Can't wait for the revelation of whole soldiers line.
