do's anyone here have any idea when the IDF will start using him???
AFIK the Tavor won't enter service in the IDF on a wide-scale because of lack of funding.
However the Tavor is already used in some parts of the IDF right now...

i know that unit nahshon or force 100 are using the weapon,the alpinistim will get it soon,and probebly matkal and shaldag are using him,but i want to know if somone here know's whan the infentry corps will start using him(i'm joining the army in 6 mounth,i jest want to know if i will be with the tavor or the M16\M4 femily).

Up till now the only unit that officially adopted the TAVOR is the Israeli Prison Service METSADA Unit

METSADA is not military, and therefore it doesn't really answer Israeli dude's questions.
Anyway - unless you are accepted to one of the units you mentioned - its unlikely you will ever use Tavor during your "Sadir".
