Close up of the launcher; You can see the AKS74s markings also. The trigger is the push button on the side near the barrel release. The safety is spring loaded, and you must push it forward and push the button. You also get a good look at the site for the launcher, which is a part of it.

One of the problems Yugos have is the barrel. They are not chromed lined, and are often in horrible condition. Soldiers in the 3rd world or groups in the Former Yugoslavia dont really take care of their weapons like they should.

Hey, a question for all you ex-Soviets... how hard is it to pick up an AK in your native countries? How much are they? Difficult to get? Do a lot of guys keep rifles when they finish compulsory service?

Thanks abunch for posting those Lovely Pencils.
It is very rare to see a North Korean Type-68(AKM)! Thanks a bunch!
Nor do you see Hungarinan AMR-69's, all that often. *The only photo I have ever seen of this in action, was a 1982 pic of Palestinian fighters in Lebanon.
One correction though, on the DDR (East German) gewhres.
The first one, Mpi-K, is actually known as the MPikMS-72 (AKMS)
Then, the 5.45mm shorty is the MpiAKS-74NK, it was fielded to the DDR NVA parartrooper's before the Fall of the Wall!

Question, for ALL the Russian troopers, Army/VDV/MVD/GRU/OMON/OPNAN so forth.
In your serivce time to Mother Russia, did you prefer to use Kalashnikov's made in the Warsaw Pact? Or your own from Tula & Izmash?
* I know that only you gents in the Spetsnaz and serving in Chechnya would have used these. Which model did you like/use. Which did you think were better?
Much Thanks!
(BTW, how many Mi-28's are fielded?)

This is the AK i used from time to time in Lebanon in 1987, rugged one that had seen its fair share of action before i got it in my hands during a weapons raid at a weapons cache in Et Taibe.

The Arabic sight is on a Polish AKMS. I think it is dated 1978. I know Syria, Iraq and others bought allot from Poland.
In the US, Romanian .22 AKT-98s have been imported. They run about $300 or so. They are identical externally to a AKM, but the internal set up is a bit different.
Albanian AKs are made on Chinese machines, and are identical, though some are with longer barrels.
Estonia purchased Galils from Israel. They also use surplus US M16A1s, and were given M-14s as well, though I dont know if they actually use them.

Made on Chines machines in China or Albania, I ask this because Albania produced modified SKS .
Beside longer barrel there is version with grenade launcher and some sights on receiver cover.
They desinated as Type A, B, C.

Eagle 3-point sling, some cheapo laser sight I experimented with.
Weighs a ton due to heavy barrel and milled receiver. I'd take an AK-103 for real work any day and twice on Sundays.
By the way, early Galils were made to receivers bought from Finland. No wonder they look alike.
