Soldier was placed into custody and the investigation has already begun. the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne was preparing to move into Southern Iraq.
The soldier in question is not the primary suspect in the bombing of the command tent injuring 13 personel. Word is that none of the injuries are life threatening.

What is the soldier in investigation for? What did he supposedly do?

He chucked a bunch of grenades in a command tent, injuring 13 men, as Angel said above.

They just let it slip on CNN that he was muslim. They asked a commander (already forgot his rank, damn) and while the videophone was rolling he said to the reporter, "since it's an ongoing investigation I'm not going to say his name or that he was a muslim soldier... ok? ok I'm ready." Oops!
As it turns out he was an engineer who was "left behind" because of a number of insubbordination issues he's had in the last couple days. So they decided to attach him to the 101st and leave him behind at that camp. Apparently he was pissed off and rolled 3 grenades into 3 different command tents.
They also just reported that one of the guys who was wounded has died.
A Time reporter said they found him about 45mins later after a headcount revealed that he was missing. When they started looking for him they noticed 3 missing grenades from his stuff, and shortly after while checking bunkers an officer found him hiding out by himself.
Could always put him in a cage and use him as a chemical weapons detection pigeon on the front lines...

I've got some ideas.
1. Feed him to the dogs
2. Shoot him
3. Savagely beat him to within an inch of his life then let him talk to the families of the people he injured
4. Shoot him
5. Leave him in a room alone with the family of the person he killed
6. Shoot him
7. Load him up with combat gear, flexcuff him, then throw him in the Persian Gulf.
8. Shoot him
And kudos to those guys guarding him, for holding back. You all know that they have got to be pissed at this guy.
Gotta love these protesters.. they stop at nothing.

The funniest thing is that even if they shoot their officers, the NCOs right down to the lowliest Private will keep on fighting.
Oh well, let them practice their freedom of speech that they did absolutely nothing to obtain other than protest those who do it for them.

Let him take a swim in the oil trenches while the commanders have a cigarette break...

What about death penalty? No one said that yet. I think its a pretty good idea.

Adam....inisubordination in time of war (in the army at least) is treason. In the US constitution I believe, it proscribes only one sentence for such a crime- immediate execution.
I agree with Eagle....stand him up in front of a firing squad and televise THAT to the world.

Is anyone watching the live firefight with the 15 MEU outside Umm Qasr? I almost crapped my pants when I saw it. The Brits are televising it like a soccer match. They've got 4 Abrams' rolling around this one building, with reports of around 120 Iraqis inside. They've been lighting the place up with .308, .50, and main gun fire. The infantry Marines are backed up about 300 meters just chilling.
We can still shoot him. And we should. He killed (confirmed). Give what you get.

I'm watching that conflict right now. Absolutely astonishing footage. Though I must say that brit with the mic needs to shut his piehole a bit. Man does he ever ramble.
On a side note... Anyone who is watching CNN, did you catch the footage from the 7th Cav units being covered by Walter Rodgers. A few minutes ago they were videophoning in some footage of a POW being handled, and he panned over to a red Tacoma pickup truck with mounted machine gun. He then described it as "that pink pickup truck is what those iraqis were driving... obviously not too good against a M1 as you would imagine."
HAH!! DISINFORMATION!!

We all know who was REALLY in that pickup. It's pretty obvious eh? I'm sure it was for OPSEC but I find it pretty amusing that even in the graining videophone pics I could clearly make out the m240 w/anpvs10 scope on a quadcab Tacoma.

That's pretty amazing.
Furthermore why the hell would we bless our enemies? We wanna win the war remember?

I think someone needs to shoot those protesters. That is outright disgusting to me. I do not think that is the freedom of speech, I think that's a disgrace to all those who dies to give them that right. And the crazy guy who attacked his own soldiers, I think that's treason.

I just noted on guy in that demonstration had a ski-mask on! What a coward! If you can't be proud of what you demonstrate for and have to hide your face all the time, you can burn in eternal hell!!!

Hey, if they want to go to Baghdad and be human shields, and "stop the genocide in our image", just let them. If they want to go up and shoot some servicemen, let them try. Just watch and see how far they get before either thinking twice or getting shot themselves. And then they'll get to see what the Iraqi people go through and they'll want Saddam gone too. And they'll get to see the soldier's perspective. But they should not be able to protest in that manner. That's just horrible. I think it's time for tear gas. A lot of tear gas.

the kid in the hood is an anarchist. they hate the police, the government, whoever. they wear hoods because they think the police will use pepper spray or tear gas. they do however represent a small minority of protesters and piss everyone off, including protesters. they SHOULD be human shields

Great call Angus. They had mentioned that the pink pickup truck had an NYPD bumper sticker on it. Didn't make any sense that it would be Iraqi.

The name of the murdered 101st is Capt. Christopher Scott Siefert.
Last night I went to a concert. A girl was wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Bin Laden on it. It's neither about politics nor anti-americanism. It's just stupidity. :bash:
By the way, I read that story about the pink pick up truck and I saved the picture in my hard drive.
Here it is:
