View Full Version : How Fit Are You?

How fit are you? You can list the answer in how many pounds you can benchpress, how many pushup you can do in 2 mins, how many pullup you can do, how far and fast you can run and swim, or any other way that will show your strength or speed. But the best way to determine how fit you are is to give you scores on your favorite branch's Physical Fitness Test.
I would give you mine but I am too ashamed at my weakness.

I can do about 45 pushups straight, but after that my arms feel like jello. I can do alot of situps, though.

Well I'll be 34 next week.
I'm 6'1" 210 lbs
I run three miles, at least three or four times a week(just over or under 30 minutes).
I can do 30 pushups without stopping.
I can do 30 situps in one minute.
I can do five pullups in a row.
I know, I'm working on all of those. At least my fiancee is happy with me for trying to stay fit. :) G

My max bench is 310, one rep. I also used to run 4.6 forties but that
was when I was in college playing football, so both have dropped off a bit. I was in the 195-200lb range during the season. I run tin man and 5k's now so I've started to go away from the lifting to drop pure muscle mass and move to being a leaner, meaner me.[I posted my workout routine in an earlier post]
I can do my miles in under 7 minutes when I push it but usually like to keep my running pace around the 8 1/2 minute mark. I just did 100 pushups to remind me that I can. Situps for days. I actually maxed out my pullups last night with 22.
If you want endurance, I used to work 10hr days on a bike in 95+ degree summer heat riding 40-50 miles a day, while wearing all my kit, and fighting crime. Read this part in a Muhammed Ali voice. "I'm a bad man"

after finishing my life-time career in organized sports (track and field and swimming), I only run every day about 3.7-4.0 miles. Usually i go at 40%, but sometimes I like to go Fartlek and go 80%-90% every other block. If I feel too much pain from shin splints or heart pain, I go around 20-30%.

Well, we started in the stance that we would be in during play, so I was in the Wide Receiver stance, slightly hunched over - hands in a boxer-type of stance. I can run 4.5-4.6 from that.
The last time we did it was on turf. Rainy, I ran a 4.7 from the 3-point stance (linemen) that day.
I suck at long distance though... :cantbeli:

hey man, nothin wrong with bein short, smaller target i say. anyway... ever try PowerBar power gel? i only ask because i was stuck at 180 for the longest time and i started taking it and it helped me to get better performance on my sets, could help you beat that 170 mark. its not steroids, its a concentrated carbohydrate gel. it pretty much gives you a little jolt of energy for your sets, its got 45mg Sodium, 45mg Potassium, 90mg Chloride. TF160SOAR, i dunno bout you but i consider 5'10" pretty damn tall ;). srry if you like it, but turf sux man, worst burns i ever got were from turf...
I run 3 kilometres -( last exam 11min 27 sek.......fu :petting: k !... )- sports wear.
Sometimes i run in uniform with gun and gas mask.
When I had important exam and crazy coy com. i run 3 km with my rucksack ,steel helmet ,gun, gear, abc protectiv clothes ( pack-ready to action)
Also I run with my rucksack and team "nice" distance 10 km on tarmac.
1 km - 1.6 mile "+ -"
Pull up- 19 this is my live record ( i had a motivation) -
Push up- i do this seldom .....rather for warm oneself.
Swimming - 50 meters ( live recorde 32 sek.- now 35 -40)
Swimming under water - 65 meters but swimming pool is 25 meters long -(and motivation)
Also i start my 50 min swimming training from 25 meters under water and i end training this same. Static record under water 1 min 30 sek- i hate this...
One's upon a time i had swum with gun (AK wersion) ,uniform ,boots, belt , old fashion braces ( like H type ) and alu water bottle ( swimmingpol- 2 times 25 m) . :fork: :petting: When i swam at the lake ( BDU ,jungle boots and pistol with my hand) i was almost sunk.

You should be able to bench press your own weight. If your not able to, you are behind in your abillities and therefore can be considered out of shape. The most important thing to remember though is do it until it ****ing hurts like hell, and then do it all over again. Thats my motto. woot

You don't want to burn and max out everytime you work out. Your muscles need time to recover.
Muscle strength = low reps x high weight
Muscle endurance = high reps x low weight
