Five games are at the top of my list. Here they are in no particular order.
Lost Vikings II (SNES) (a puzzle game where three cybernetically-enhanced vikings are warped through time and space, trying to get home to medieval Scandinavia. Bloody brilliant gameplay, suitably heroic/campy music, and hilarious dialogue between the three vikings between each level. An absolute masterpiece. And it was done by Blizzard Entertainment, famous for their Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo series).
Final Fantasy III (SNES) (If you don't know what the Final Fantasy series is, I'm not going to try to explain. But I think the best of the series was the 16-bit era)
Final Fantasy II (SNES)
Legend of Zelda III: A Link to the Past (SNES) (Replace "Final Fantasy" with "Zelda" in the sentence above).
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon with the two expansion packs (PC) (a very very realistic modern infantry tactical shooter by the makers of the Rainbow Six series)
I honestly haven't been that excited about console games since the good ol' Super Nintendo. And in general for modern games, I think too much effort is put into graphics (especially non-interactive cinema scenes) and not enough put into quality of gameplay. Ghost Recon is a rare exception for me. The game is effing brilliant.

Cs is for newbies who think they are **** hot...
CS as far as i am concerned is a starter to the FPS genre, its popular, so people new to the genre use it as their first FPS game.
Its easy to become good, but also easy to cheat and hack CS.
And once they leave CS servers and move up to the big leagues- Americas Army and BHD, they find themselves getting their asses beat ruthlessly.

Operation Flashpoint great game but weak on Urban warfare. The sequel I am eagerly waiting for.
Half life and its other MODS were good in their day. I can't wait for Half Life 2 its gonna be sweet. Download the trailer from Kazaa, the title is just
(hl2) and I believe its a quicktime video, but welll worth it.
Max Payne was quite revolutionary in its day.
Rainbow Six Raven Shield great anti terrorist game, definately the best so far, I loved the death sequences, especially fun mutiplayer.
It's kinda depressing for me to talk about this stuff cause this summer I deleted all my games and sold many of them cause I was getting to busy abd I needed to prioritize my life. I therefore have not played any games for like 4 months. It sucks man but hey I'll get over it when I get a new comp for university. But then I'll probably be even more busy and will never get to play. :( :petting:

btw, why do you all like AA so much..i mean.. a game where u can wait 10 minutes after you die quickly becomes boring to me

AA:O is fantastic because when you do die, you just alt-tab and web-surf or do email or do AIM. it's multitasking while playing, and it's very efficient.

no, i think it's an incredible idea: if you do die, you can do things that are productive at the same time. it also allows you time to think on how to attack or defend the next round.
that's why i play AA:O so much.

3 words.
FULL SPECTRUM WARRIOR.
I just bought it 4 days ago. One of the most engaging games i have ever played.
It combines the tactical action of DF:BHD with the strategy needed to play games like C&C and Fleet Command... Best of both worlds.
Very fun, many long missions, good graphics and great gameplay. It actually requires heavy thinking before making your moves.
Towards the end you get some Rangers under your command, and they are awesome... They carry way better guns than your usual 2 fire teams, i think they have like SiG-550's with laser sights...
id definately reccomend this game.
Only bitch about it is that the sound effects leave something to be desired.

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Best RPG ever.... so immersive, I'd find myself so engrossed in it, a fantastic game.
Half-Life - I always love the mods for HL, so much variety, always a new experience with each one.
Combat Missions - Excellent Turnbased wargame
X-Plane -always had tons of fun playing it with my freinds, even though it wasnt really that great of a sim.
Freelancer -Great role-playing community
UT2k4 and Red Orchestra -great online play, RO is an excellent, accurate, and realistic portrayal of ww2's eastern front
Ghost Recon - Wish ghost recon 2 was gonna be this good... :|
Far Cry - I had a genuinely good time playing this game, online coop is tons of fun

-Secret of Maya, another Squaresoft title that I think was the longest playing time of any SNES RPG when it came out. More simple than FF series since you just had 3 main characters, but still captivating back in high school when free time existed.
-Alone in the Dark
-RS:Urban Operations
-Operation Flashpoint
-Command and Conquer
-Kings Quest I, Space Quest I&II, Police Quest I

Favorite game being a game you have never played... scientists have yet to decide the functioning of your single brain cell. :|
Your an idiot ... VBS is the same (for the most part) as Operation Flashpoint ... so if future marine likes OFP then you can bet hes gonna like VBS .... :slap:
You are the f*** idiot here. For gaming purposes OFP is better than VBS, especially when you consider the mods for OFP.
Well seeing as VBS is a very new game, its not suprising that OFP has more MODs  ... common sense really
Gosh what is it with everyone talking out of their asses about VBS. FIRST it's not even a game, SECOND any man with a brain will see that it will NEVER et an active mod scene...
I agree with you 100% that it's not a game, it's a Simulation. And BAS has made a 75th Ranger, OPFOR, and German SF Modification for VBS1.
